1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire 4 speed, Factory Turbocharged Aluminum 215 V8, f-85
Description
1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire. The Olds Jetfire model was the first ever factory installed turbocharged automobile. Has an all aluminum 215 V8 engine that produced 215 horse power and 301 ft lbs of torque. Classified as a Compact in the day with only a 112 inch wheelbase and a weight of under 3000 lbs. All Jetfire cars came as a hardtop and was its own model. eBay does not have the Jetfire show up as a model so it may show as a Cutlass in the title.
This Jetfire was rebuilt/restored and completed last summer by the former owner. The original 215 engine was rebuilt by D&D aluminum V8 in Michigan that specializes in these engines. The complete turbocharger, carburetor and fluid metering system was restored by Jim Noel who is the leading Jetfire expert and the system works perfectly. This car was an automatic but was converted to a 4 speed using a correct T-10 and 4 speed console that could have been ordered in these cars. The engine and turbo system starts and runs beautifully. Odometer shows 61,500 but I do not know if it is actual. Please watch my You Tube video labeled " 63 Oldsmobile Jetfire 4 speed with working turbo " Also feel free to look at my other Jetfire You Tube videos. I have one that explains how the Turbo Rocket Fluid system works.

They installed all new brakes. All 4 drums, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, lines, master cylinder, and hardware are all new parts. The brakes work great and as you would expect a new system to perform.
The bad,,, the radio does not work and the chrome face of the radio has just a little pitting. The steering wheel is from a 62 and having a hard time finding a nice one from a 63. I do have the correct 63 horn button and contacts that are included with the car but you will have to find the correct wheel if you are not satisfied with the 62 wheel. The e brake cable is stuck. I have not looked at it but I believe it will need replaced and Inline tube offers them new. Missing the flywheel cover and could use a better shifter lever floor boot. The last thing is the heater cables need adjusted. The heater works but the cables are off from the correct labeling. I tell this so you know up front and have no surprises. This is not a 1000 point car but it is a very beautiful car that is a hit at any car show or cruise in. We just had it at the World of Wheels Motorama show in Indianapolis and had a line of people waiting to get a look at it and one of our 62's.
I have two other 1962 Jetfire' and have decided to sell this 63 to restore one of our 62's. We have only driven this car around 200 miles so I don't have a long history with it.
This car is located in Brazil Indiana and is available to be looked at before bidding.
I am setting no opening bid with no reserve. High bidder gets the car. $750 non refundable deposit required whiten 48 hours of auction close and paid in full within 7 days.
Car is sold AS IS and no warranty or refunds of any kind. The car has very little time on it after the restoration so some little details and small bugs could surface as would be expected after such a major overhaul. I will not be responsible for such things. Has a clear title and ready to go.
