Description

For sale is a 1962 Oldsmobile Super 88, V8 Sky Rocket engine, 2 door, silver-blue car with power steering & brakes and factory air. I have a clear title in my name. It appears to have been restored in the past (paint, carpet, dash, possibly seats), guessing 10-20 years ago, and shows light to moderate wear throughout. It drives and handles well, is driven weekly to keep it moving, and has current plates. All lights and dash controls work except windshield wiper switch & radio. The worst things wrong with it are that though the factory A/C equipment is all present it is not working (don't know why, haven't tried to trouble shoot it) and she has a minor transmission leak but only when parked facing up hill. Chrome is generally good with some rust on the front and rear bumpers and the rear bumper mildly bowed. Paint shows light wear and there are a couple small rust spots, but these are NOT rust holes going through (one is on hood, other is from scratch on upper part of driver's door). Otherwise, a good condition car useful for either frequent driving or restoration at your own pace. Be advised that the car is also for sale locally. Buyer responsible for shipping. Deposit via PayPal within 48 hours, full payment in one week via cashier's check. Thank you.

UPDATE: Many good questions on the car. First, there is only spotty, light surface corrosion on parts of the frame (see 4 new pictures), but no pitting, bubbles or holes from rust that I can find. The floor and trunk pans all look (again, see new pics) clean and solid from underneath, but the carpeting on both is glued to the top surfaces so I can't inspect them without risking those, but they both feel solid from the top. Underside looks overall good. The only bad news is the rear bumper bowing listed above looks to be from the car getting tapped on the right rear corner sometime in the past (see final picture for current condition of corner). Appears that damage was minimal and confined to corner, and to have been well repaired. Magnet shows metal still present under light putty coating. Trunk lip sticks out 1/2 inch, but lid locks up just fine. Sorry for that addition. If it kills your interest, no one has hit the reserve yet, so no one is at risk. Final note, it is NOT actually for sale locally (my bad), but if you are local and wish to see it, you are more than welcome to contact me to set up a visit. Thank you to all.
