BACK-STORY
I bought this car about 4-5 years ago. It belonged to a lady who stored it under a carport for 15-20 years and was immaculate - so I couldn't resist buying it. What I didn't realize at the time was that the same Arizona weather combined with non-use that makes it a rust-free car also destroys every rubber component on it. So the more I drove it, the more I had to fix on it; and once I got started there was no point in stopping till it was all fixed - which it now is.
CONDITION
Its an amazing smooth running powerful road car that has had about everything done that you can do. I have receipts for the work, all professionally done and some lucky buyer will reap the benefit because now I'm working on an old truck and can't keep the 88. Over 7k invested but that's how it goes. I will list as much as I can remember the work that has been done, all in the last 9k miles or so.
WORK DONE ON THE CAR
All belts, hoses, tune-up parts (plugs etc) Ignition module, Tires, Brakes, Shocks, exhaust, radiator, water pump, fuel pump, starter, battery, carburetor, complete new air conditioning system, heads (valves-guides-seats) U-joints, new vinyl roof, muffler.
BODY AND INTERIOR
Exterior is great with a few small blemishes, interior as well (seats and carpet good). There is one crack in the top of the dash board and the steering wheel (Arizona sun). The drivers door could be adjusted to close better. Glass is good and window cranks work well.
ELECTRICAL
All the switches, radio, blinkers, lights, electrical work properly. Added Volt, temp, and Oil pressure gauges for fun.
REASON FOR SELLING
I'm working on an old truck and have 3 other vehicles so I'm running out of room and really can't justify keeping it.
SUMMARY
The car is original and stock (except for the repaired stuff). It starts easy and cruises amazing. It would be worth buying just for the mechanical condition if nothing else, so if you love these old cars then this is one you don't want to pass up"
BIDDING AND RESERVE PAYMENT
I decided to gamble with no reserve so I started the bidding at $1500. After that point, whoever is high bidder will own it; but only a cashier’s check or cash will be accepted. If you decide to ship the car, be advised that funds must clear on the check before the shipper arrives to take the car. If you decide to drive it, it should cruise home just fine.
