Description

1975 Cutlass Supreme.

Great car to restore. Been in our family since 1994.

NO RESERVE - HIGH BIDDER GETS THE CAR. ** YOU ARE BIDDING TO OWN IT**, NOT TO COME LOOK AT IT AND SEE IF YOU WANT IT. Serious Buyers Only. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO STOP OUT PRIOR TO BIDDING.

Been in storage / garaged since 2012 (Outside now since January 2018 - under car cover).
Car has 184K

- Original 260 Olds V8 has 111K. Everything is bone stock.

- Automatic Transmission was rebuilt @ 130K miles (AAMCO).
I pulled the car out of storage (it was run / started every few months). It starts right up / purrs like a kitten. I'm running it off a gas can. You can hear it run. Gas Tank is partially drained - needs fully drained. Brake line is rotted - NO TEST DRIVES. Car runs and moves back and forth in the driveway. ***** Ran / Drove & stopped great until appx Jan 2018 when brake line "went" after being in storage. No smoke or engine noises etc. THIS CAR WAS DRIVEN 40-70 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK EVERY DAY RIGHT UP UNTIL IT WAS PUT INTO STORAGE.

Great candidate to restore. Small 260 V8 isn't exactly a "Monster" but still runs great. (You'll want to freshen all fluids of course).

Body is in really nice shape (not even a ding really). Everything is straight, very little bondo etc. Some touch up paint to cover surface rust that was starting years ago. Body behind the rear window was sanded and primed to prevent any rust. (I believe this section is galvanized from the factory - the paint tends to come off in this area on 73-77's. No rot in this area.

BODY IS NICE EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING: ( I'll try to be as thorough as possible - ASK ME ANYTHING YOU NEED TO CLARIFY).

(1) REAR 1/4's . You'll need rear 1/4 panels replaced or repaired ?? - I'd replace the entire 1/4 panel. (There was some previous bondo done on the rear 1/4's and the car has had one repaint (back in the late 90's / done by a body shop)......but the body is very solid otherwise..

(2) A small rotted spot in drivers floor pan as well.

(3) Some minor rust spots on bottom of trunk lid (smaller than dime-sized), and a few dime sized spots by the bottom of the vinyl top trim. BOTH FIXABLE. TOP WAS REPLACED when it was painted, and the roof underneath seems very solid. TOP IS CRACKED / WORN NOW.

(4) Front seats were removed / stolen while it was in storage. I COULD POSSIBLY track down an IDENTICAL set of seats locally - PLEASE EMAIL FOR DETAILS.

(5) Dash is in awesome shape BUT it's a bit "sticky" (like most dash plastic of the mid 70's). HOWEVER - I was given a light solvent / prep solution by a body shop that they use to remove the "sticky color oils /plastic softeners" that seep out of the 70's GM dash boards. They use this prior to prepping and re-dye of the dash. I've tried it on 3 small portions of the dash and it removes the sticky feeling and I will include the bottle with the car. (I wish I would have known this could be fixed when I had my old Buick and replaced a fantastic (but sticky) entire dash ). Unlike most cars of this era, you can save this dash and re-dye, which is a nice plus.

(6) There is some minor damage to the dash "insert / bezel" where a radio was installed / removed, but the dash / interior is in nice shape. (back seat vinyl has some splits in the material as expected). Headliner is in nice shape. The console and console lid is in fantastic shape which is very rare for these cars as well. (I've been offered $425 for the dash and console alone locally, $200+ for door panels and some interior parts, and $400 for front fenders and header panel. It can be parted for more than I'm asking (Believe me I'm tempted).... but I'd MUCH RATHER see someone restore & keep this cutlass on the road......

(7) the passenger side window works, but is "gummed up" from sitting. It does roll up/down but it's hard to crank when it gets to around the 1/2 way point, and "shifts off track just a bit" so I don't open that door to avoid any leaks / not being able to get the window up etc.

(8) - Before putting back on the road, You'll, of course, want to look over EVERYTHING you normally would on a 44 year old car that has been in storage for 7 years.

I have a set of Camaro rims on it now to roll around. If you want to bring your own rims, I'll knock off $100 off the price and use these to roll my Vette around.

THIS CAR WILL NOT BE A WASTE OF TIME for you to come see. I work close to home and I WILL HAPPILY MEET ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STOP OUT AND SEE THE CAR PRIOR TO BIDDING. (I can even meet during the days with a little notice).

I realize it's hard to tell condition online (I've purchased and restored several cars and bought a few off Ebay over the years, so I know how difficult that could be), so I'll be adding more pics - and encourage you to ask for any specific pics / info or description you need. I'd be glad to send them to you. I'd also be glad to speak to anyone in person. THIS IS NOT A BASKET CASE.

I've seen much worse listed for more money. (And I've seen a few local rotted out examples for $800-$1200 so I tried to price this well for some looking for "an old school Cutlass"..

If you've read this far / and are serious, contact me email and I can send additional pics / description / arrange a time for you to see the car / talk to you on the phone etc. Anything you need.

THE CAR IS LISTED LOCALLY (A few hundred dollars higher). My goal is to let the auction run it's course, but If it sells locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. IF THERE ARE BIDDER(s), I will let the auction run it's course though, despite any local offers.

AS/IS. Of course. This is a project car. If I wasn't in the middle of a 76 Corvette and 71 Mustang projects, I'd do this one myself. (and still might if it does not sell).

Not the same old Chevy Monte Carlo, Camaro, Firebird, Mustang, Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Regal, Muscle car - Drive something different! Great car to restore. You don't see many of these still left on the road. The 260 V8 is the same physical size as other Olds Small Blocks - 307, 350, 403 etc so a swap is easy. This body style also came with the 455 so that's a nice upgrade as well. Lots of options.

I RESPOND TO ALL EMAILS .

PAYMENT: $200 NON-Refundable Deposit via PAYPAL within 2 days of end of auction. BALANCE in CASH DUE AT PICK-UP.

CAR TO BE PICKED UP within 14 DAYS. (But, I am willing to work with you). HOWEVER - discuss it with me PRIOR TO BIDDING.
