Description

1956 Oldsmobile 88 four door. Very solid and dry Texas car. I have owned the car for fifteen years. The car has been kept in my dry Arizona shop for most of that time. I bought the car because it is virtually exactly like the one I had in high school many years ago. The interior is all original and very nice. The car was sold with the understanding that the 56000 miles was correct and while it was not verified it sure looks like it. There has been so poor work done on the left rear quarter panel as well as a poor paint job. The rest of the car is very straight with no rust anywhere. I dropped the car off the front of my trailer bringing it home and bent the lower front bumper so several years later I removed the front bumper and grill assembly in order to get the lower bumper straightened and that is as far as I got. I have everything I tool off the car and those parts with the exception of the lower front bumper are in very good condition. I drove the car several years ago after installing the fuel pump which I had rebuilt by Kanter and it ran perfectly. I might mention that this is a factory four barrel car and the original carburetor is still on the car. I have accumulated multiple extra parts for the car that will go with it. These include:
Spin on oil filter adapterRochester carb kitBack up lightsadditional visor bracketsre chromed grill centerHood emblemTune up partsnew tail light lensesnice pair of grill stainlesspr. valve cover gasketsNOS bumper guardfour fiesta hub caps, (two will need some work)numerous miscellaneous small parts
I'm closing up my shop and down sizing so I have sold or selling most of my cars. I will really hate to see this one go because of its nostalgia value to me but I don't think it would be a good idea to just store it.If there are any questions please contact me via e-bay. I would like a 500.00 deposit through pay pal within twenty four hours of the closing of the auction with the balance as cash or a bank transfer. Thanks for looking.
