1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Base Convertible 2-Door 3.1L
Description
I am the second owner of this excellent running 92 Olds Cutlass Supreme convertible. The original owner had an ACDelco remanufactured engine installed at 65612 miles in 2003. He drove it for a couple more years and then parked it for several years. Prior to my purchase in February 2015 the following was done to get the car running again: new battery, transmission fluid exchange, brake fluid exchange, power steering exchange, new fuel pump, and oil change. The car had 70,401 miles on it at that time, and 70,440 miles when I bought it.
Here's what has been done to the car when I bought it: new tires, new plugs and wires, a faulty coil was replaced, new ignition control module, new fuel tank, another new fuel pump, a couple of fuel filters, a set of rebuilt injectors were installed, fuel lines and fuel rails blown clean, cooling system flush, bypass hoses under the plenum replaced, and the console lid was recovered.
The car now runs and drives as it should. The interior is very good, with no rips or tears. The brakes are good, lights, turn signals, gauges all work. The top is in good shape with no rips or tears and goes up and down. The oil and filter were just changed.
The glove box light switch has been disconnected as it has a short and would drain the battery in a couple of days. The paint shines and there is no rust. The bumpers were very faded and have been painted and look fine from a 10 feet but should be professionally done. The may be able to be color sanded.
Here are the issues still needing to be fixed: both rear windows are inoperative and need new motors installed, there is a groan in the rear suspension that I have not had diagnosed-I think it is a bushing and not a strut, the heater core started leaking last winter and has been bypassed, the AC needs to be recharged at the least (I have not looked into it at all), the CD player does not work (that is what the original owner told me, I have not tried it), the power antenna does not work-the motor sounds like it is working, but the antenna does not go up or down, it can be done manually, the dash pad at the defroster vent is warped, the glass rear window leaks slightly at the bottom corners under direct water like at a car wash-I did not ever have it out in the rain so I do not know if it leaks then-it is a slight leak and there is even a drain in this area just in case there is ever a leak.
This car should give many years of enjoyable use and the above items do not detract from driving, except maybe the moan and groan in the rear suspension. Please email any questions before bidding. The car is available for inspection and this is encouraged as I may have missed something in the description. There is no warranty of any kind. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Reserve is reasonable and will not be disclosed. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of purchase/auction end.
