Description

Up for auction is one very NICE all original Oldsmobile Cutlass S. This Cutlass is equipped with a 350 Rocket (310 hp) and 4 Speed transmission. This is a 3 owner car that was purchased new in Defiance, OH. The original owners drove it till 1977 when they traded it in on a 1977 Cutlass. The Salesman that sold them this car and the 77 Cutlass purchased it for his son to drive to high school. In the early 80's the car was parked as the owner graduated high school and didn't take the car to college. This car spent the next 20 years in storage just being driven on special occasions. I purchased the car in 2005. I have only put a few hundred miles on this car since I purchased it and has spent the rest of its time under a cover in my shop. When I purchased this car it was completely original down to the hose clamps and plug wires. It was like a time capsule which is amazing since so many of these cars were hot rodded back in the day. The car is Burgandy in color and I estimate that at least 80% of the paint is original. There are some dings and stone chips in the paint as this car is 46 years old and was daily driven for 10 years. The fender heals are starting to pop and may have been repaired a long time ago ( the fender heals on these cars started rusting on these cars after they were only a few years old). The paint on the right rear quarter by the door jamb is starting to crack a little, again 46 year old paint. With all that being said about the paint this car still shines up well and turns heads. The vinyl top is original and in excellent condition with no signs of bubbling or bumps underneath it anywhere. All the trim is in very good condition. The interior in this car is all original and in AMAZING condition. No tears or rips or signs of wear. The only thing I replaced on the interior are the chrome bezels around the front seat head rest posts. All the interior lights and trunk light work. The 8 track player still works also. The drive train is all original and stock. Zinc was added to the oil at every oil change (mechanicallifters) and 110 octane race gas was put in the tank (better shelf life). Car runs out strong and shifts smoothly.I did upgrade the radiator to a larger Desert Cooler radiator but I still have the original radiator and will go with the car. I also had true dual exhaust with H-pipe installed. The mufflers are Flowmaster Delta Flow mufflers that give a nice rumble with no interior resonance. The brakes are manual 4 wheel drum and all brake lines hoses etc. are all original. I did install late 70's 15" Olds Rally Wheels as there is a better selection of tires verses the original 14' wheels. The original wheels are included in the sale. This car is a true Barn Find / Survivor car plus its a Oldsmobile with a 4 Speed. You don't see that everyday. These cars are only original once and this Cutlass will still turn heads at cruise nights and coffee n cars events. I almost hate to part with this car but I have to many projects and it's time to pass it on for someone else to enjoy. Thanks for looking.
