1955 ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY SAPPHIRE 4 DOOR LUXURY SEDAN FOR RESTORATION BEAUTIFUL
Description
THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED IN ENGLANDWHEN NEW. IT WAS PURCHASED USED THERE, AND SHIPPED TO THE U.S. SECOND OWNER HAD IT UNTIL I BOUGHT IT AROUND 1988. ASKING PRICE WAS $13, 500. I DROVE IT HOME, AND ENJOYED IT ON WEEKENDS AND OCCASIONALLY FOR 3 OR 4 YEARS. AS MY CHILDREN GOT OLDER, IT REMAINED IN THE GARAGE. IT WAS LAST DRIVEN ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. AT THE TIME IT RAN FINE, AND THERE WERE NO KNOWN PROBLEMS. COMES WITH ORIGINAL MANUAL WITH SOME PROVENENCE, KING DICK TOOLS, ENGLISH PLATES, ETC. ETC. IT WAS LEFT OUT WITH THE VENT OPEN AND WATER RAN THROUGH TO THE DASH COVER. I USED TO GO AND START IT PERIODICALLY, BUT STOPPED A FEW YEARS AGO. NEEDS A BATTERY, NEW TIRES TO DRIVE. I DID NOTHING TO IT OVER THE YEARS EXCEPT NORMAL MAINTENANCE, AND POLISH. THE STEEL ON THIS IS LIKE A TANK. VIRTUALLY STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW, JUST A GREAT CAR WITH NO BODY WORK NEEDED, COULD USE SOME PAINT, AS MUCH OF IT I BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL. THE DARKER COLOR IS BEAUTIFUL. THE LIGHT GRAT WAS TOUCHED UP BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. IF I WERE GOING TO BUY THIS CAR, I WOULD CLEAN THE INTERIOR AND TOUCH IT UP, MAYBE PUT FLOOR COVER IN TO. SAND IT OUT, PAINT IT, DRAIN THE FLUIDS, CLEAN OUT THE FUEL SYSTEM, PUT NEW BATTERY IN IT, AS WELL AS TIRES, AND ENJOY IT. OR YOU CAN TREAT IT AS A SURVIVOR AND DO MINIMAL REPAIRS. IT HAS BEEN IN MY YARD RECENTLY, BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTED TO BUY IT, SO I PULLED IT OUT OF THE GARAGE. IF I DON'T SELL IT, IT'S GOING BACK IN THE GARAGE, AND I'LL KEEP IT. I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE ASKING ABOUT THE CAR AND IF IT'S FOR SALE.
