Description

Believed to be the last Brown truck remaining. Made in Duluth, MN in 1922. The Brown truck company was listed in the Dykes Automobile Encyclopedia as an orphan vehicle by 1924. Several ads from the "Duluth Herald" and "Labor World" from 1922 make reference to the Brown Truck Company and describe it's specifications, articles of incorporation and other details of the company. This 2.5 Ton truck has been shortened and is missing a portion of the rear frame and the rear springs and hangers. The good news is that all of the major mechanical components are original. Radiator, engine, transmission, axles, wheels, brake linkage and firewall. This would have had a wooden cab originally and like many other trucks of it's day the cab may have been made by a separate company so the design is basically of your choice. It obviously needs major restoration but this is your chance to have a TRULY "one of a kind" vehicle! I am fairly certain you will never see another Brown truck (not to be confused with a different Brown truck company that operated in the 1940's). I have bought and sold old trucks for over 20 years in northern Minnesota and never before even heard of this company. In reaching out to other collectors and forums it is apparent that this is an extremely rare truck. If this was the last remaining GTO can you imagine what the price would be???? I can store at buyers risk for a period of time and can load onto your trailer. I am happy to help in whatever way I can to assist the buyer but shipping and pickup arrangements are up to the purchaser. No title, bill of sale only.
