Description

1960 Ford short wide bed with original factory 292 Y-block motor (still has the generator, original radiator and electric wipers) and the "granny" 4-speed in the floor on original frame with straight front axle. The cross-over exhaust pipe has been removed and converted into a dual exhaust. The truck has the large big back window. Spent most of its time in Northern California and is basically a rust free truck, there are no rust holes, no patch panels welded in. There is some bondo on the right corner of the hood and on the back edge of the roof filling dents, where the hood had blown open and caused the dents (due to previous owner not closing the hood to engage the safety latch). Windshield and the windshield rubber was replaced at that time. The bed is so tight that it will hold water (see pictures). The paint is Caymen Green and appears to be an older paint restoration (before I purchased it in 1997).

I had the interior painted, bumper and instrument cluster bezel chromed and carpet installed with a foil backing pad a short time after I purchased the truck. We installed new anti-rattle window kit and new side glass, new headliner, Firewall insulator, new knobs, vent window rubber, choke cable, glover box liner, tail-gate chain bumpers, dome light gasket, mirror grommets, and a nice radio to fill the hole that had been previously cut into the dash. All replacement interior parts were purchased from Obsolete Ford Parts in Oklahoma and Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts in North Carolina.

The bucket seats are out of a 1958 and 1959 Ford panel trucks. The upholstery work was done to be back as close to original as possible. Built and upholstered a small console to house the speakers along with a storage compartment. Also made a cover for the gas tank that is behind the seats.

The tires are 255/60/15 Dunlop G/T Radials and have less than 2500 miles on them. The truck has been registered as an antique and driven less than 1000 miles a year the last 9 years. It was driven often prior to that and the engine compartment reflects the "daily dirt". I did not clean the engine compartment, wanted you to see it is what it is. It runs, drives, stops as it should. The truck is garage kept.

Have owned this truck for 21 years and have a clear Texas title. Feel free to ask questions and look at pictures closely for the best description... :)

This truck is easy to start.....pump the accelerator 3 times, turn the key and it fires right off and idles like it should........after the first start, you can stand outside, reach in the window, turn the key and it will start first turn.
The emergency brake works. Goes into gear smoothly (no grinding or hunting the slot).
The steering is not "wore out"....you can drive it down the road and not have to continually over-correct the steering for it to stay in the lane.
