Description

A wonderful opportunity to acquire a rare, large, brass era, motorcar. A top level example of the motoring art. This 1910 French built Panhard-Levassor would be a great addition to any museum or private collection. Landaulet body by Rothschild with convertible rear quarter. The coachwork interior is fit for a king or queen. This is a model X7, matching numbers on the body and engine, # 26021. The engine was completely rebuilt by master mechanic and machinist Rich Fazio of Maine and runs great. The engine is a sleeve valve type based on the Willies-Knight design and runs so quiet for a 106 year old vehicle. The engine was also fitted out with an electric starter and starts so easily. Engine is about 40-50hp. The coachwork interior was completely redone by Terrie Crew of Maine and is so beautiful to sit in. Folks knew how to travel 100 years ago. The rest of the car sports an older restoration that shows its age in a graceful, nice patina way. Paint is good. Wood perfect. Wheels straight and tires show little to no wear. Transmission is a selective four speed. Clutch was removed and cleaned and works nice and smooth. This is one of the great motorcars. Car is stored in Maine. Sold as is where is. Will store for winning bidder until they can arrange transport. Call for more info 207-286-5483 anytime.
