Description

This is an original 1962 Sunbeam Alpine with 32,510 original miles. This car has the original Dunloptiresfrom the factory. Original paint, engine, interior, convertible top and tonneau cover.I have the original, not a copy of the bill of sale at aSunbeamdealer inRockfordIllinois, have the original dealer brochures and the key fob given to the owner at the time of sale. This car runs and drives, shifts through all gears. The tires hold air but I would not trust them at highway speeds. The muffler is rusted and the tailpipe is gone but that's it.The original owner has done some after market work, like sidelights that work, an altimeter and all sorts ofsafetylights under the dash like fasten seat belts and a brake light indicator, air horns, but the original horns work perfect. This car should be seen by a potential buyer, it has always been garaged, always.I am listing this car with the hope of finding a collector, I am sure that it is one of the best survivors of thismodelin the world. The headlights are original Lucas and work. The lever on the steering column is not overdrive, it is thedirectionals, the other side is plugged, I do not know why this is but it is unique. The fuel tank was removed boiled out and sealed, the original lines were cleaned out and original fuel pump and carbsrebuilt.Pullout the choke and the carfiresright upimmediatelyand idles perfect. The guy that wants this car will come here, this is the real deal. The convertible top is tucked away in the rear compartment. All of the frame is there, including the two cross pieces you must remove to tuck away. The condition of the top is no rips but a yellow rear window. It is a pain to put up and down for pictures so I leave it tucked away. I use the tonneau cover, excellent condition, brass zippers, came with the car. It is always in a garage unless I take it for a spin. Alldrivelinefluids are new, no leaks. Changed oil pump and strainer.Car has the original points, cap, rotor and spark plug wires and they are in excellent condition and work perfectly. In the trunk is the original spare, never used, and the hold down strap looks like brand new. There is a can of "spare tire" from the 60's, the little white short can, and the tool kit, kit is complete. The engine crank is in the clips in the trunk, I don't think it was ever taken out. Also sun visors are aftermarket AMCO green tinted lenses in perfect conditionClear legal Illinois title from the trustee of the estate I purchased this from so it is still a one owner car. Transfer was through the estate's attorneyI have had this car for 5 yearsMy name is John, I have many pictures of this car (154)(631) 774-9509call me

On Oct-04-16 at 06:08:15 PDT, seller added the following information:

The engine has been gone through, Crank polished, new

bushings, pistons, rings, wrist pins, oil pump. Head has

been done, new valves, seats, guides, springs were

reused. Cam is in excellent condition and left as is, new

lifters and reuse push rods. New water pump, all hoses

and belts. New spark plugs but left original wires, cap

rotor and points, all in excellent condition. Compression

is excellent and oil pressure steady. Water temperature

is 190 and steady, can run all day. Rebuilt the original

fuel pump, carburetors, master cylinder, clutch master

and slave. Brake system flushed, cooling flushed. Fuel

tank boiled and sealed, fuel lines flushed and clean. The

clutch grabs a little high but fully engages, the muffler is

shot and tail pipe gone but the remainder of the exhaust

system is excellent. Of course all gaskets were replaced

on the engine. Paint is in incredible condition for its age,

it came up really well, and chrome is in excellent

condition. As far as classic, that is certainly subjective,

every time I look at this car, it looks classic to me.

Anyone that has seen this car first hand cannot believe

the good condition. I would suggest that you come here,

the car is on a lift, I offer you or your agent unlimited lift

time to go over the car. I will take you for a drive. Bring

cash.
