Description

Stunning 1964 Auto Union 1000S De Luxe Coupe in restored condition. These remarkable cars were German built to a very high standard with some unique features. The engine is a 3 cylinder two stroke, each cylinder having it's own coil. The engine starts easily and revs freely, making surprisingly good power for its size. The transmission is four speed fully synchronized and the steering is rack and pinion. The driving experience is just great, gutsy performance, front wheel drive handling, excellent braking and a very comfortable ride. The paintwork is excellent with a few flaws, too small to photograph. The interior is original and attests to the low mileage of the car. The doors are opened from inside the car by pushing down on the armrest, unique.Fuel is mixed at 40:1 with 10 gallons of gas mixed with 1 quart of 2 stroke oil.You simply add the oil to the tank and then put in the gas. In 1932 Audi merged with Horch, DKW and Wanderer to form Auto Union. Auto Union used the four interlinked rings that make up the Audi badge today, representing these four brands. These cars are extremely rare in the US, especially in this condition. A good parts supply is available in Germany. The car is being sold to reduce my collection. The car is sold as is where is, there is no warranty real or implied. The car will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank account. I can assist with shipping, at the buyers cost. You are invited to inspect the car and satisfy yourself as to its condition.
