This is a 1954 Hillman Minx Mk VII convertible. I bought this from a gentleman that owned it for over 40 years. For several years he had it on the showroom floor of his motorcycle dealership. I don't really want to sell it but I've just run out of room. When I got the car I was immediately impressed with its rust free condition. For safety sake I replaced all the wheel cylinders, brake hoses, and had the brake shoes radiused to match the drums. The 1265 cc flat head engine starts right up and cruises nicely with its four speed on the column shifter. The upholstery was redone by the previous owner.....probably within the last 10 or so years ago. I added a correct factory clock and ammeter. Paint is in good condition although there is some pitting on the boot (trunk lid). One added extra feature is the front and rear bumper guards. I've never seen another Mk Hillman with them. The car is registered and up to date and has a clear title and is wearing correct 1954 California license plates. Some of the pictures show a Klumbo license plate that have now been removed Hillman Minx convertibles of this era are extremely rare. Do a web search and try to find another that has sold recently. There just aren't that many out there. This car isn't perfect but it's a great driver and always gets attention at car shows. The car is available to view and test drive. I pulled the convertible top up and was surprised to see what great condition it was in. Its a tan color and looks to have been recently replaced (5 or so years maybe). The rear window is clear. I can't add any more pictures but contact me if you'd like to see pictures of it. The top is a 3 position top so you can have it up or down or coupe de ville style with just the back seat covered.
