Description

Divco this stands for Detroit Industrial Vehicle Company. These people build the first motor driven home delivery vehicles ever and continued until 1982. What is for sale is an all original 1939 model UM (insulated) milk truck. This particular one is the stand-up model!

This is a very rare vehicle and even more rare to be found in this condition. This vehicle has its original engine, trans rear end etc. This Continental 4 cylinder engine RUNS PERFECT! As we have done what was needed to do so after sitting for WHO KNOWS how long! The transmission and clutch work fine as well. It is weak in the BRAKES department with a few missing pieces, so the test drive was short! It will sit and idle as long as you want it to. The fuel tank is gone; it was rotted and had mice skeletons in it!

Now, what do with this vehicle? Well it can be restored to original condition or hot/rat rodded.

What a FANTASTIC machine to advertise with! But again, WHAT TO DO WITH IT????

I also have a complete front axle assembly with disc brakes on it that will fit this vehicle and a 10 bolt G.M. rear end that would also work nicely under this vehicle. We also have a 4 bolt main Chev.350 that is standard and standard and a 70R4 auto overdrive trans that CAN go with it orit can be installed to make move, here! The dash components are hooked up so that we could monitor the engine while it was running etc. It is what it is.

This vehicle will be sold with a “BONDED” Texas title as the original is long since gone….I have owned this vehicle forover 12 years( my personal project that I am doing for ME,I have owned for 9 years, my project list is too long!) and at 60 my days in my restoration shop are changing. I am selling off my projects that I will never get to. HOWEVER we can assist with any mods that you might want us to do up to a complete transformation, as long as it is not MY project but yours. I would expect a complete restore back to near original would take 300+ hours in my shop, so keep that in mind as far as a cost factor to have us build. Parts bill? Well no clue really but to spend 3 to 5 K and keep it near original should be in line.

Shipping. I can assist in shipping worldwide. It won’t be cheap. I can haul for $1.65 per mile to any of the lower 48 states as well with our equipment. To “hire” it done by an auto transport company may be a challenge due to the height. If you are looking at shipper, my "ship from" zip code is 78414 Corpus Christi,Texas

What am I bidding on?You are bidding on the vehicle, as is, with the front axle and the rear end. That’s it. The parts will be inside the vehicle.

Additional Photos can be supplied at your request. This truck has some expected rust issues with the body NOTHING major or on the frame etc. As a 30+ year restorer this one is and ez fix. However since the panels are flat it is all a very ez and inexpensive repair!

Any additional parts are extra as well as any additions, modifications, or total rebuild.

Call me!This is important. This can be just yard art or a total, completely restored vehicle, or the baddest hot/rat rod out there and we can help in that. Scott 361-331-3322

I will be at the Barrett-Jackson sale in Scottsdale all of next week and will have time to discuss any details that you need to address.
