1948 DELUXE EIGHT TOURING SEDAN..
Description
Up for grabs is my 1948 Packard Deluxe eight touring sedan.I have owned this car for the past 4 years and its a real nice car.The reason I am selling is because I am so busy with my bussiness that I never get to use it and it needs to be driven and enjoyed.I purchased this car from the family of the original owner, and it is original in every detail,We believe the mileage is correct and the paint is original(we checked in every nook and cranny(door jams, trunk well firewall and under the rockers and its all the same paint. The car is registered and insured and on the road and it drives fine the brakes work nice, the shocks and suspension is all good. The interior is all correct and in nice shape.there are some minor issues and here they are.The headlight switch is not working so I ran a switch between power and the hi/lo switch on the floor cannot get under the dash to change the switch it is available from kanter in NJ.The fan behind the heater box does not work and will need to be replace. The heater box gets nice and hot and heats the car fine but without the fan it does not blow up to the windshield so it takes a long time for the windshield to defrost in the winter. The engine is stock flathead 228 with 120 inch wheelbas, Tires are new and could use a balance,i got the car and did not take them off and have them balanced(they drive ok).The 1 pic of the gauges shows the car after running for 15 minutes, the fuel gauge is not working but I grounded the sender and it pins so it just needs a sender unit(so I am told by my antique car buddies).I use the odometer to keep my fuel right,I fill it and go 100 miles on the odometer and then fill it again.Never ran out of gas yet. This car has alot of cool accessories such as front and rear original Packard spotlights, beauty rings and Packard hubcaps on the wheels, whistler gas fill accessory, swan front fender emblem, bakelite accessory steering wheel and other cool items. The passenger door window has a crack(can be seen in the pics)..The glass can be had from Kanter also, but I never got to it.Also included in the sale is a nos original 1948 Packard Full color sales brochure in the original envelope as well as a Factory service manual(not in the pics but included). This car was featured on the cover of the Vanderbilt region AACA car show at the museum, and I am a member of the same group.I have had this car at many local events and it is always a crowd pleaser.
This is a real nice car and I am selling it for less than market,so here is your chance to get a cool car for the right money. If you want to come over and take a ride I will be happy to take you out...The reserve is way below the buy it now and it should reach the reserve,so if you really like it the buy it now is the way to go.All shipping costs are at the buyers expense I will assist as much as I can. Payment is as follows.500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction end, balance to be paid with cashiers check or bank check within 7 days..The car will be released once the money is free and clear. The car has no warranty and I have disclosed I am in the motorcycle business and have other cool items for sale on ebay.Check them out..
