Description

Offered for sale is a very nice western US example of a 1956 Packard Patrician sedan. This is serial number 5682-4222, the 3222nd car of a total of 3775 built. It was delivered new by Mountain Motors Packard in Salt Lake City, Utah to John A. Green on May 24, 1956. He sold the car in 1963 to E. G. Gustafson, who in turn sold it to Chad Fisher in 1971, who kept the car until 2012 when it came to me. The car shows 104,000 miles, and that is documented by notes on the back page of the original owner's manual. Coming from 41 years of storage I had the fuel tank replaced, the brakes including power booster gone through, the carburetor rebuilt and all fluids changed. It is now a very good running and shifting car! Apparently the original owner had the car converted from pushbutton shift to a proper 1956 Packard lever shift. The car is unique in that it has manual windows and manual seat, yet the upscale leather and brocade interior. The car has a remarkable original interior, needing only the dash pad redone (as they all need) and possibly new carpets if one were fussy. The car was repainted once in the original Jamaican Yellow and Dover White and could really use another repaint, but quite presentable as is. The previous owner rolled the car gently into a fence removing it from long term storage and damaged the left front fender and grille bar, replacement newly plated parts to fix are included. There is absolutely no evidence of rust or rot on the car except for the two typical spots on the lower front fenders where road moisture is trapped by the inner structure. The front and rear bumpers are newly replated, the tires are new and still have the blue shipping preservative in place. This is a great car in an unusual color scheme (more frequently used on the 400 model). I would not sell it but something else is begging to come to my garage! Please feel free to call for details.
