Extremely elegant and uniquely rare, this stunning quality Packard 160 Convertible is "1 of only 133" produced for the shortened 1942 model year, with an "estimated survival rate" of less than 10%. Well documented with 35,472 actual miles, car #2027 is specifically mentioned within "The Packard Cormorant Magazine" (Winter,80-81), article "Those Rare 1942 Packard Convertibles by A.H. Rohlfing" as "Among the Packard One Sixty's, easily the oldest and lowest mileage is A.F. Roddy's car #2027"...

During 1988, Christine Roddy sold the car to Betsy Williams of Northern California, who was known as a serious Packard enthusiast. Although the car was a "solid actual mile survivor", Betsy would embark on a fastidious professional quality body-on frame restoration/preservation, one that required "several decades" to complete. The extended time was mainly due to her insistence that any important parts required "Must Be NOS" original components and the extra time it took to locate them...

During 2012, Betsy's husband T.C. Williams sold the car to the current caretaker Ray M. of Southern California whom is an avid and meticulous collector, one "that insists that all components be in full working order, as near perfect in cosmetic presentation as possible and finally, it must be roadworthy". During the 1st year, Ray and his on-location curator spent many hours of "Fine Tuning" with full review of every system, repairs/updates and cosmetics, as needed. Subsequently, it was "Driven" from Newport Beach, CA to the regional 2013 AACA Palm Springs event, where it received it's 1st Junior Award status with NO point deductions and a 2014 AACA National Award, nominated as an Outstanding Vehicle by the AACA National Awards Committee.
