Description

1988 Peugeot 505 Turbo, automatic with a very low 64, 227 miles on it.
The Good:
When I bought the car, it was presumed it had a cracked head and had been off the road since 2014. The head was removed and examined and was found to be 100% fine, but the head gasket was blown. A new gasket was fitted, and all other gaskets required for reassembly were also replaced (see pic with hood off in garage, this is before the gasket was replaced). A new fuel pressure regulator, fresh gasoline and some spark plugs were all that was required to have the engine purring. It starts up immediately and runs smooth as a Swiss watch.
The interior is in very, very nice condition, with the leather seats practically looking like new. I've given all the leather a single treatment with Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil and Prestine Clean, but it will need another treatment or two in order for the leather to be fully hydrated.
There is no rust on this car, other than some very superficial spotting near the spare tire on the underside. Control arms are 100% fine.
All power windows work just fine.
Central locking is good, and 1 working remote key fob is also included (see picture).
New coolant, oil and oil filter after replacing head gasket.
Radiator is in excellent condition.
The Bad:
Tires will need to be replaced (195/65 R15's) as they are old Michelins and the sidewalls are cracked.
Paint is tired on any horizontal surface, so a new paint job is the main expense required to get this car back to showroom quality.
Sunroof cable is bad, so either use the sunroof manually as the previous owner did, or have the cable replaced.
Since the car has been off the road for several years, the car will have to be gone through to make sure everything is road ready.
The plastic housing for the passenger side fog light was broken and needs to be replaced. The glass fog light that fits in the housing is fine and in the trunk.
Car is located in SE Connecticut near the Mohegan Sun casino.
