1965 Plymouth Barracuda 78464 Miles Silver 273 ci 3-Spd Auto
Description
Stk# 2323 1965 Plymouth Barracuda The first generation Barracuda was introduced in 1964. It was based on the Plymouth Valiant that utilized a uni-body structure. However the new Barracuda was reconfigured to produce a fastback body that was totally unique. This 1965 Barracuda received a full restoration in 2002. The original N-code Barracuda Silver was professionally re-sprayed as a two-stage finish and looks better than the factory enamel. The black vinyl interior was fully restored to original appearance. A classic 'wood-grain' wheel is in excellent condition. Most notably the huge rear tinted window is also in very good condition - replacements are rare. Our Barracuda is powered by the original version of Chrysler's 'LA' small block - the 273. This lightweight potent engine became the basis for performance mid-size Chrysler products for more than a decade growing to 318/340/360ci. This Barracuda has the base 273ci/180bhp version of that engine with Carter 2-barrel carburetor. The sturdy 16-valve solid-lifter engine has never required a rebuild. The 273 is backed by the '904' Chrysler 3-speed automatic a transmission that has always been up to the task. The front suspension is twin-torsion bar paired with rear leaf springs. Power steering was optioned on this car and 4-wheel drum brakes provide stopping power. Chrysler steel 'Rallye Wheels' with trim rings are from a later model MOPAR and mount 14" Road Warrior radials. (These wheels look similar to the 'Formula S' wheel-covers offered in 1965.) Classic MOPARs are more in demand now than ever before. If you are looking for a solid example of a mid-60s Chrysler take the time to look at this great Barracuda. We feel that you will be pleased at what you see. . ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
