1935 Plymouth Pj Coupe SCTA TROG Real 1950’s hot rod not a rat
Description
READ ABOUT THD TITLE BEFORE BIDDING.This is actually a VERY nice car despite the paint. It was a hot rod until it was put in a barn in 1953 where it remained until I bought it. The original flathead Six was a replaced with a 1950 model engine with a very rare Tattersfield dual carb induction system, split manifolds (I replaced those with Reds Headers) and a three speed transmission on the floor and a Tattersfield shifter knob. The motor and transmission are out of the car at the moment because I put a new head gasket on. I’m not going to install it because the new owner may choose to go a different route. You can have your choice of wheels and tires. I have a set of big and little wire wheels with wide white wall radial tires or I have the original steel wheels (not artillery wheels) with Coker wide white wall radial tires in big and little set up too. You can pick either set but not both. I DO NOT HAVE A TITLE because I got it from a state that didn’t title back then. I do have a police inspection and I CAN GET AN INDIANA TITLE but it will take five weeks or so and cost about $300. I’ve done several this way in the Indiana court system. It is the correct in legal way to title an old car. I can do this for the actual cost of doing it. The body of this car is exceptionally decent with the real rust being in the bottom of the drivers door (I have a great rust free replacement door that is included) and also in the trunk floor as seen in the picture. There is a little bit of rust on the rocker. The running boards and fenders are nice with a small dent or two . Headlights and grill are super nice. I have the rare and complete PJ hood spears and rings now too. Some of the glass is good. Crank out windshield is cool too. The factory roof opening was filled with metal in the 50’s and not the best job. I’d remove it and put the upholstered insert back in it. Very rare car with great lines and extremely hard to find this nice and complete. Neat old period correct hot rod with really lousy paint and surface rust.
