Description

Selling for a friend of mine near Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is just a rolling body with no drive train in it. Car comes with a 100% clean and clear Oklahoma title. This is a real deal FJ5 Limelight Green N-code 1970 383 HP Plymouth Road Runner column shift automatic N96 Air Grabber/N95 Evaporative Emission Control California car. This car at some point early in it's life, came to Oklahoma from California and was traded in at Bartel Motors Inc. (Chrysler-Plymouth) on 123 W. Moses St. in Cushing, Oklahoma. After that, it was eventually sold to somebody here in Oklahoma. The old dealership building is still standing to this very day there in downtown Cushing, Oklahoma.

This 1970 Road Runner has spent many years of it's life in and around the Oklahoma area and the lack of rust on the underside of the car shows that. This car was factory FJ5 Limelight Green on the outside with a black front bench seat interior and a black vinyl top. It is a factory N96 Air Grabber car. You can still see where the factory N96 vacuum canister bracket is mounted on the lower left of the passenger's side firewall there. Only N96 1970 Road Runners and N96 1970 GTX's had that vacuum canister and bracket in that exact location. So, this does confirm it was a real N96 Air Grabber car. This was a kick ass car when it was brand new.

This car is also a V21 hood treatment car and probably had factory hood pins as well. Aftermarket AC was added to this car at some point in it's life in the past. You can see the two non-original holes drilled in the firewall right above the inlet and outlet holes for the heater core there. Now the really sucky news. A previous owner took the original fender tag off of the car and never put it back on. We have no idea who has it, so it's probably gone for good. We did put an aftermarket "SPECIAL ORDER" fender tag on the car, with two original fender tag screws to fill the void of the original fender tag not being there. No build sheet was ever found in the car as most of the interior was already missing. The radiator support VIN# stamping is present along with the driver' side trunk rain gutter VIN# stamping in back there. Both match the original dash VIN# plate on the dash frame. The original driver's side door sticker is not there. Another driver's side door was put on the car, to replace the original due to the car being in an accident many years ago.

The Road Runner really does have a pretty decent body on it. The frame rails are solid as heck with no rust out anywhere that I have seen. The driver's side 1/4 panel was replaced at some point with one off of a FC7 1970 Road Runner. You can still see original purple paint in places where the fix was done. The driver's side door is non-original as I said before. The passenger's side door is original to the car, but has damage in it. My friend can assist you in loading the 1970 Road Runner, but it does roll fine with no issues at all. This 1970 Road Runner originally had a 1970 383-4V Satellite parts car, that came with it as a package deal. It is not available now and is mine. All the nice parts from the 1970 Satellite have already been transferred over to the 1970 Road Runner and do go with it. The really nice matching driver's side and passenger's side doors from the 1970 Satellite are included as well, but are not pictured here. I could only post 24 pictures here on this auction and that was it.

This 1970 Road Runner is a total project car. It has rust here and there, but is a fairly solid California car. It should be a good starting point for a muscle car project car for somebody though. Being that the original fender tag is gone? This will allow somebody to do whatever they want with it. If you want to go back original? That would be awesome. If you want to go back custom with it? No problem there at all. This will be a cash only deal for this 1970 Road Runner.
