GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Starting as a 1967 Barracuda High price class 2 door sports hard top with a 225 1 bbl inline 6 cylinder RG engine. This barracuda was restored and fitted with a rebuilt 1970 340ci V8 engine with “J” casting heads which are the large vale heads for the 1970 engines. The previous owner whilst on vacation located this car in southern California. He cut his vacation short went home to Utah to grab a trailer returned to southern California and brought the car home so it could be restored and he painted it just like the car he had in high school. ENGINE: The car is fitted with a 1970 casting 340 ci with "J" casting heads which are the large valve heads for 1970. The intake manifold is Edelbrock RPM Air Gap, the carburetor is Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm and the headers are Heddman 1 5/8 tube. According to Dyno testing done by Hotrod magazine, these ad ons to an otherwise stock 340 engine can yield around 350 hp and 380 ft-lb of torque. DRIVE TRAIN: The transmission is the OEM unit and has been rebuilt with close ratio 1-3 gears and an overdrive 4th gear for use on the freeway. The rear end was rebuilt and has 3.55:1 limited slip differential. CHASSIS: The chassis has the appearance of coming from the very dry southern California climate and looks great with zero rust. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay was restored nicely and painted black. Is very clean and chrome pieces are shiny and free of grime and present very nicely. EXTERIOR: Painted in a Viper yellow paint with new chrome bumpers this barracuda looks excellent. Body panels are very straight and all other bright work is in great original condition. INTERIOR: The interior has been redone with new upholstery both front and rear and new carpet throughout. The dash was painted and it was fitted with a new dash pad. All gauges work as they should. The black headliner is clean and has no rips or tears. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk area is carpeted with black carpet matching the interior and is very clean. |
