1948 Plymouth Convertible
Description
1948 Plymouth Convertible. Built in 1948 in Los Angeles for export and exported to Guatemala in South America. This is as close to a Cuban Car as you may get. The car runs and the engine is good. The front brakes have been re done. The car has Clean California Title and is currently registered and insured.
Speedometer is in kilometers.
Photos shows include how it look before it has been commercially media blasted. It is currently in commercial primer right now and ready to have the body work done. The original glass is cracked but available as templates. I have new floor pans which need to be installed. The top bows are there but the wood one needs to be rebuilt and I have the belt moldings. Extra grill moulding. Wide White wall tires.
The carwas commerciallyprimered at time of media blasting. . I have the hardest stuff for the this car, the moldings, windows mechanism, wipers, radio, wide white radials, rocker moldings, grill moldings and an extra set of grill moldings, floor pans, the vacuum canisters and the main convertible bow parts. The convertible lock mechanism is not original and is modified but functional. She starts easy and is drivable for yard and short drives. Front brakes have been redone. New modern authentic cloth wiring is in but needs completing.
New gel battery(paid $140) and stainless steel gas tank(paid ($400), new floor pans (paid $400)More pictures upon request.
The car does need new locks, a few pieces of window molding, the clips for the molding, some window and lock parts. Temperature gauge needs repair. There are likely little things missing but we have nearly everything and many duplicates that were given to me by a friend who was rodding another 1948 Plymouth.
This car could be a driver with some work or could be made into a fun rat rod.
