Up for auction is a 1948 Plymouth Deluxe. I have had this car for a couple years and haven't had time to finish it out so its got to go!
The car has many upgrades and customization done by the previous owner and is far from stock,, but needs some tweaking, tuning and generally just needs finished up.
The car starts, stops runs rides and drives fairly well. I drove it to several cruise ins when I first got it and had no problems. Its been sitting around for over a year but it started right up the first try. The old gas that's in it I think is making it kinda run a little rough but I added some fresh gas to it and it seems to be getting better.
There is a lot to list as far as what has been modified on this car good, bad, and ugly but I will do my best to list it all,, so here goes:
360 Chrysler 4bbl, electronic Ign with headers. No smoke, no noise, plenty of oil pressure. Runs strong but not a ground pounding monster,,good cruiser.
4-speed manual transmission, I don't know what kind but it shifts good and has a hydraulic clutch.
Chrysler 8.75 narrowed rear end with 742 housing and 4.10 gears.
Boyd Coddington wheels with 31x18.50 15 Hoosier tires on the back.
Power Disc brakes on the front, drum on the back, and non power rack and pinion steering.
Aftermarket wiring,, lights, turn signals, brake lights, dash lights all work.
GM tilt steering
Gold VDO gauges that all work but the speedometer (cable missing)
The car has been primered and painted a few times and the paint is cracked and peeling in places but the body and floorsare solid, you can stick a magnet to it anywhere. Good start on the patina look or sand it down and put a nice paint job on it.
The bad:
No door windows, no wipers, driveshaft needs balanced or new u-joints because it does vibrate and certain speeds, not too terrible, but noticeable.
In general its an unfinished project that is 80% done and ready to enjoy the way it is or finish it out to suit your tastes. Look at the pics and feel free to ask questions. I will answer them quickly and honestly as possible.
