1969 Plymouth Fury
Description
For sale, one 1969 Plymouth Fury III 2DR hardtop, 383 4BBL automatic with dual exhaust.
This car is registered, has a clear title, and I drive it regularly during the summer months and was planning to eventually use it as a parts car for another MOPAR project. Unfortunately time, money, and storage are getting harder to come by so I need to sell the car. I would love to keep it as it is a cool daily driver and it draws lots of attention, but my loss could be your gain.
According to all paperwork this car has 121,900 miles & had a documented motor rebuild at 102,274 miles. The car has also been through an amateur restoration approximately 6 years ago that freshened up the body and paint. The car passes the magnet test and the paint matches the original color Mopar B5 Blue Fire Poly and is decent with a few flaws. It appears that most of the body work was done to the rear quarters and they both have had panel replacements. The trunk has also had metal patch panels covered with rust proofing put in to cover some small rust holes. Also it appears that the car may have had some minor damage to the passenger side rear fender and the body line is off a bit where filler was used to straighten out the crease in the body line, and there is a spot that would touched up right above the passenger side rear wheel. (see pics)There is some surface rust along the rear window(see pics) The interior is good but could use some work on the driver's seat, I currently just did a duct tape fix to keep the tears from getting worse.
Mechanically the car is in very good shape, the motor uses no oil, and the transmission shifts well however does have a leaky pan. I have put some money into this car to make it a reliable daily driver and have replaced brakes and wheel cylinders, and ball joints and tie rods ends on the passenger side. I have also upgraded the 383 from points to an electronic ignition and modern voltage regulator and alternator. As a driver everything works fine and the car is street legal with good tires. There are a couple minor issues, gas gauge has a lazy needle that moves about 1/2 at times, but other times very little. It will bury the needle when approaching empty and is fairly reliable that way to tell you when you need to find a gas station. The air conditioning does not work but all the parts are there.
This is a nice driving, reliable, almost 50 year old car that has not been professionally restored and is not priced as such. The car is a nice ride, but not perfect & would be a great fit for a MOPAR nut that would like to be able to drive and restore at the same time or someone that would like a daily driver different from the regular crap on the road out there. I do have several receipts and paperwork for this car all the way back to the build sheet and bill of sale.
Delivery available at extra charge.
