BADPINK is offered for sale. Please note, If you are looking for an all original, numbers matching, “we have the build sheet and the original sales sticker from the window” car, don’t bother reading any further. If the car was all that, we wouldn’t have been able to afford it in the first place. The car started out as a 6 cylinder, a fact that has not made one bit of difference to us as we have enjoyed it over the years, nor to the countless people who wave and give us the thumbs up, nobody cares. But if it does to you, you do not want this car. If you are looking for a car that has been restored true to the way it left the factory, don’t bother reading any further. If you belong to the “Mopar cult” who look aghast (actually pretty funny to see) when they find out we put disc brakes All The Way Around, etc., also stop reading now!
If, however, there is someone out there who is looking for a car like the one we have created here, who would be glad that we have spent all the money necessary on the expensive stuff (new custom built high performance stroked 440, yes, disc brakes all the way around so we could then stop), along with much more to make it a fun driver, with everything done at a high-end professional shop (we do have all the receipts for the work done on the car since we got it 7 years ago), and who wants a car that has been upgraded to be The Most Awesome ride around, that is the car at Hot August Nights that everyone wants their picture taken with, a car that you cannot help but smile as you drive it, guys love it, ladies love it, kids love it, it has tons of power and sounds fantastic (everyone knows there is a big block Mopar coming down the road), this may be the car for you.
As far as a few of the details involving the upgrades, it has been professionally converted to a 440 based performance engine. Some of the items included in the conversion are the proper 'K member', to allow the big block to fit, the massively strong sure-grip differential, sub-frame connectors. The engine was built by a machinist who builds and repairs jet engines. It has a bored and stroked 440 block, it is now 512 cubic inches with the help of top quality parts from 440 Source in Carson City, Nevada. It boasts Edelbrock heads, quiet gear drive, headers, etc. (all the cool stuff).
It is not a show car, not a trailer queen by any means, we love to drive it.There are still some things we haven’t gotten around to fixing yet, our focus being on the big expensive upgrades. Those things would be, dash lights don’t work, radio doesn’t work, heat doesn’t work. We’ve driven the car for 7 years this way and the just haven’t been a priority for us.Depending on when and if the car sells, these may be fixed, or not.The car came to us with all the air conditioning equipment, however we have never had it hooked up, as we were doing the engine swap, etc. There is a tiny area on the passenger door down at the bottom where in the past a body shop did a crappy job fixing a little scratch they made.
Everything needed to drive the car safely and have fun is functional, i.e. headlights, brake lights, turn signals, odometer/speedometer, fuel gauge, windshield wipers in case you get caught in the rain etc.The car has lived in the west all its life, the body is clean and solid, nothing like the cars we have unfortunately bought from the east.
Also note, we do not have to sell the car for some money emergency, etc.We have just been thinking, as we get older, it might be nice if we started doing a little better retirement planning, in which selling the car could be helpful. We have spent, in addition to purchasing the car as a nice solid 1970 Barracuda, another $25,000.00+ on all the work, so we are not interested in just letting it go for a bargain. We may entertain reasonable offers, a reasonable offer being not far off from the Buy It Now price. The car is currently insured with classic car insurance for an agreed-upon value of $61,500, and this insurance costs around $400.00 per year.If the car does not sell, that’s okay too, we’re quite happy to be the ones enjoying it all summer!Questions? 775-250-0796, 775-287-0645.
