Description

Attention Mopar fanatics & collectors, you have just got to love this one!

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this absolutely gorgeous, all numbers matching, fully restored 1973 Plymouth ‘Cuda 340 Factory 4-Speed car, finished in its factory correct (JA5) Silver Frost Metallic wrapped around a perfect factory correct (A6X9) Black Bucket Seat interior! Fresh off of a no expense spared ground-up restoration, this fully documented’73 ‘Cuda was mildly customized to satisfy the owner’s desire to have his car just the way he wanted it! All colors, options, etc. match the original window sticker(s), as well as the fender tag, but a few cosmetic & performance upgrades were added during the extensive restoration.

The fender tag reads as follows: First Row: (E55) 340ci V8 4-Barrel Motor, (D21) A833 4-Speed Manual Transmission, (BS23) Plymouth Barracuda Special 2-Door Hardtop, (H3B) 340ci V8 4-Barrel Motor-Model Year 1973-Assembly Plant Hamtramck MI., (458025) Plant Sequential Number. Second Row: (JA5) Silver Frost Metallic, (A6X9) A-Class Black Vinyl Bucket Seats, (000) Full Door Panels, (423) Scheduled Production Date-Monday April 23 1973, (104717) Vehicle Order Number. Third Row: (V1X) Black Vinyl Roof, (U) Built To USA Specs, (B41) Power Front Disc Brakes, (C16) Center Console, (C56) Front Bucket Seats, (G35) Left Outside Mirror Chrome Remote Racing Style. Fourth Row: (J52) Inside Hood Release, (J54) Sport Hood, (L25) Trunk Light, (L31) Fender Mounted Turn Signal Indicators, (M21) Roof Drip Rail Moldings, (M25) Body Sill Moldings. Fifth Row: (M31) Body Belt Moldings, (M88) Deck Lid Molding Treatment, (N41) Dual Exhaust, (N42) Bright Exhaust Tips, (N85) Tachometer. Sixth row: (R35) Multiplex AM/FM Radio, (V6X) Stripe-Longitudinal Sport Tape-Black, (26) 26” Radiator, (EN2) End Of Codes.

All of the original 100% rust-free sheet metal is laser straight all the way around the car and the factory correct (JA5) Silver Frost Metallic paint is absolutely stunning! Minor customization includes painting both original bumpers in body color, painting the edges of sport hood bulges in black, and leaving the black sport tape off the rear. A set of custom 17” rally wheels were added wrapped w/ new BF Goodrich low-profile tires, which look outstanding on this car! Again, all body work & paint was done to professional standards throughout and the final results are nothing short of breathtaking! The Silver Frost Metallic paint literally explodes in the sunlight and really has to be seen in person to fully appreciate! You can walk around this car a hundred times and never find a bad angle. She is simply beautiful!

Open the driver’s door and you will find a perfect factory stock interior that looks ‘as new’ from front to back, just like it did 43 years ago! The black bucket seats, console, door panels, dash, carpeting, etc., appear in show-quality condition, & all of the gauges, lights, blinkers, AM/FM radio, etc., are in perfect working order. The original clock works intermittently, which is quite common. Please look closely at the photos to see how beautiful this factory stock interior truly is.

Open the hood and nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find the original numbers matching 340ci V8 motor linked to the original numbers matching A833 4-Speed Transmission. A Scat 340 Competition Stroker Kit was added during the restoration, which includes the 4.070” bore, new forged pistons w/ 10.2 compression, new 3.580” crank, new 6.123” rods, etc., which turned the original ‘340’ into a 416ci power plant delivering 500hp! The original block was painted in body color & dressed up w/ finned Mopar Performance valve covers, finned Mopar Performance air cleaner assembly, Edelbrock Torker aluminum intake manifold, Holley 650cfm carburetor, & custom built headers. She starts w/ a flick of the wrist, settling into a nice smooth idle, and when it’s time to go, let me tell you, she GOES! The completely rebuilt original A833 4-Speed transmission shifts smooth & tight, delivering the power to the original 8 ¾” rear end w/ 3.55 gears. This is an entirely different animal from the stock 340/240hp power plant that she was before, and to say that it is a blast to drive is a gross understatement! She pulls hard through all four gears, delivering more power & torque than you would ever expect from a small-block Mopar! The custom built aluminum radiator keep her running nice & cool even in hot desert temperatures, while the power steering & factory power disc brakes makes driving around town effortless.

This one-of-a-kind 1973 Plymouth ‘Cuda really is the best of both worlds, as you still have a full numbers matching car but one that looks, runs & performs far better than it did back in 1973! Original documentation includes: (2) Original Window Stickers, Original Chrysler Consumer Information Sheet, and piles of receipts for parts & labor for the work performed during the extensive restoration process. Whether you are looking for a classic Mopar muscle car for an investment, or simply one that can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest, this outstanding 1973 Plymouth ‘Cuda 340 4-Speed car will be hard to beat!
