Description

Rare, hard to find Special Deluxe five passenger coupe. 1948 Plymouth in very good condition. It's all original and complete with only about 52,000 actual miles on it. Has original engine, drive train and interior. It has all original glass, floor mats, and trunk mat, insulation and fire wall board and divider between rear seat and trunk. The car is very straight and very solid inside and out with only minor surface rust on the outside due to the Lacquer paint flaking off. The car has never been wrecked and repaired as far as I can tell. It is extremely tight for it's age in every way; steering, brakes, chassis and body. It does not leak or use any fluids of any kind. The engine and drive train are in great condition and runs like it did some 70 years ago. Since I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago I have converted it to a 12 volt alternator, added turn signals, screw on oil filter adapter, put all new brakes on it, put in a new fuel sending unit and several other things to the car including new tires. Everything on the car works like it should, heater, lights, wipers and everything else on the car. The car runs around 60 lbs. oil pressure at normal operating temperature. It does need inner rocker panels (splash panels under car) replaced. Anyone who knows anything about any of the post war cars knows this happens on most all of them. The floors and trunk are solid with only about 3 very small holes in the drivers side floor. The trunk has a dime size hole in the floor on both sides under the tail lights and only surface rust in flat part of trunk. Interior is in good condition for its age as you can see in the pictures could use a little TLC and door panels are in good condition but are faded not bad but some. Other than that it is good condition. This car would be easy to restore or can be driven and enjoyed the way it is. There are many options with it. I am interested in another car and lost interest because of health reasons. I have driven the car about 4000 miles in 2 1/2 years with absolutely no problems. I have bought a lot of parts that go with the car, 3 rocker panel moldings, side trim and a lot of other stuff. It would be hard for me to tell everything I have for the car. I have everything to replace things that are rusted or pitted (emblems, tail lights, ornaments etc). I also have a complete set of 1949 Plymouth 3 ribbed bumpers with the guards and bolts. The bumpers on the car were lightly painted for protection before being stored, they are straight and decent shape for there age. The paint will come off very easy. N.A.D.A values the car itself at $9,500 - plus you get everything I have with it. This is road ready and ready to go. The rust in the front driver side floor only needs small patches. Call and leave a message, I will get back with you or send text only to show contact info to 1 865 232 2459 . I will be willing to set a time for you to come look at and test drive the car. Bring cash and drive it home. This car set in a garage for over 25 years. The car is located about 40 miles west of Knoxville Tennessee off I 40 in Harriman Tennessee.
