1963 PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY COMMANDO 361
Description
Let me start by saying that this is NOT a Pebble Beach car but IS a good looking driver, not to mention this car is RARE. Only 3370 Commando 361's were built for 63, not sure how many of those were convertibles but I'll look into that a little more. As an added bonus convertible weather is here as well. There are still some adjustments to be made on the car, a few blemishes are also visable on the car (see photos). This is a western car but does have some minor rust issues limited to only the drivers side rear floor from a leak in the old top and center of the trunk where some moisture got trapped under the trunk mat, again check out the photos. There is some blistering on the passenger rear quarter where some body work was done from a fender bender years ago. Overall the interior is very good, the
rear side panels were custom made and there'ssome fading on the rear seat but no rips or tears. Please read the description below and check out the photos where I circled some of the blemishes. The trunk lid has some paint separatingfrom shrinkage and the hood has a paint smudge.
I sent this vehicles information to FCA Detroit/Chrysler Historical Services and received a copy of the IBM Card so I could have it decoded and a data plate made for it, which was missing, and will be installed on the car this week.Rare 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury Commando 361 Convertible that was originally a 361 big block car and now houses a 1970 383ci and 727 automatic transmission. Not a push button anymore, but could be, instead it has a competition shifter runs and drives good with good brakes. The car wears ALL of it's original trim that is in great condition as is the chrome bumpers. Doors shut nicely and has newer tires with chrome Mopar rally wheels, new turn signal lenses, nice black power top with a new plastic rear window, new top boot that still needs snaps installed on the car, new hydraulic rams and lines for the top, new top seals, new power steering gear box, and some new dash knobs that were missing. There's no radio couple gauges need to be looked at closer, front seat doesn't move back and forth very well, heater isn't hook up, could use some shocks just to name a few things that will need attention sooner or later. The car is 56 years old but in great condition for her age and will definitely compliment any garage or collection.I can only post 24 photos, I have many more and can text or email them.
