Description

1970 Plymouth Cuda Convertible V-code for sale, 29,400original miles. Court ordered sale. 1 of 17 ever built, Hagerty referred to as “the Holy Grail of Muscle Cars”. Factory “V code” 440 6 pack, Pistol Grip 4 speed, Dana TracPac 3:54 Rear End, Fender tag, Broadcast sheet, authenticated number matching survivor, test drive video on youtube.

Quick Description- Excellent original magnet tested body panels with mostly OEM level digital paint readings. More pics available with digital paint readouts. Very period straight with no bondo to “skim and flatten". Abundant factory spot welds and 1/4 panel tabs, just as it left Hamtramck production facility. Shaker hood option was added in the 70’s, painted rearbumper added as well.

Structure- Confirmed as a no-hit, no-rot body/underbody. No repairs tofloors or wheel tubs ever. Original trunk pan. Original trunk extensions, splash pans with ¼ panel tabs still present. Exterior sheet metal is all OEM. They’re only original once.

Matching Numbers on all 9- The fender tag and legible broadcast sheet that also match engine, trans, core support, cowl, door stickerand dash plate. All of these numbers match the title.

History- Purported to be one of the two lowest mileage number matchingunrestored “survivor cars” of the original 29 ever produced. This car does not need restoring. It is in very well survived condition. Same owners for nearly 40 years. Original canvas top, original dated set of replaced Polyglas White letters, mini spare and inflator can, jack, rimblow steering wheel, Power steering and brakes, A01 lighting, kept in heated carpeted garage under cover. Has won several awards over the years. This may well be one of the coolest and rarest E-bodies on the planet!

Mechanically the car runs very well. Test drive video conducted. The clutch and brakes were recently rebuilt, engine oil pan and valve cover gaskets were changed out a few years ago, and motor paint touched up. Good oil pressure, no unusual issues. Oil pan or valve cover still drips. The Dana 3:54 Trac Pac rear axle assembly has been repainted and maintained over the years. Dialed in nicely with no flat spots in acceleration, steering is responsive and straight (for that polyglas tire ride).

Outside all of the trim is still very nice, nothing needs any attention or replacement. Doors, hood and trunk all close and latch nicely. Key locks work. The corner conv’t. top surround trim has a more dulling finish comparatively to the rest. The paint presents very nice, maintaining great reflection. Some minor chips have been touched up. Some minor prep contamination here and there, typical of the 70’s era. Any repaint work conducted matches the period well. All lenses are nice, bezels are nice and the fog lights work.Turns, back-ups and headlamps all work. Minor vertical roller marks in 2 of theoriginal side glass windows. Seals still supple.

Inside the wipers and heater slides are working. Rim blow horn works through center button, instead of rim. Reverse key lock-out works correctly, light illumines properly next to seat belt light. Date-coded seatbelts sitting on original carpet, original white vinyl seats and backs are still very nice. Door trim and side panels show well. Nice woodgrain, C-16 console is ingreat shape, lid works, glove box door and light work.

Underneath the gas tank was replaced along with sender. Fuel gage is working in part of my video, but may require better grounding. The shocks have been replaced. The underbody is patch-free and super solid. No wrinkles, rot or hoist damage. All OEM wheel tubs free of any repairs and clean “no-swell” pinch-welds. Excellent trunk floor (was clear coated over years ago to aid in preserving surface under mat).No tears seen in frame rail dye holes. No hoist damage. No rot. Very clean original unitized underbody. Aluminized exhaust with part numbered mufflers and correct tips. They're only original once.
