Description

318 LA V8, 904 Automatic on the column. Factory "Silver Special" - consisting of Silver Metallic paint, unique two-tone silver interior, light package and decor group. 57,000 original miles, rust free Southern car, mostly original paint. All numbers match, for whatever that's worth.

Miss Irene was a Nashville, Tennessee, school lunch lady. This was the only new car she ever purchased, and she kept it until she passed away. Ed Groves of Nashville, acquired this car from her estate. Mr. Groves was an elementary school student in 1967 and Miss Irene worked in his school cafeteria. He remembers the day she bought it and has encountered this car on a regular basis for the past 50 years. I purchased the car from Mr. Groves.

Newer tires, fuel pump, alternator, plug wires, master cylinder, shocks and exhaust. Fuel tank was recently dropped, cleaned and recoated. Runs and drives excellent with the exception of dried out wheel cylinders from sitting. Heater core is bad. Car is absolutely rust free throughout. Miss Irene's son decided to give the car a "spray can tune-up" somewhere along the way. Silver spray paint is evident on the inner fenders and some of the lower body. Surface rust appears under the spray paint, apparently from a poor sanding job of blemishes. The only body flaw is a skim coat of filler above the driver side rear wheel, perhaps from scraping the side of the garage.

I bought this car to prevent it from being parted out, BUT it has mint front fenders, vent wing chrome, wheel opening mouldings, decklid, floor and trunk pans. Excellent remote mirror, rocker mouldings, fender turn signal indicators, solid bumpers, frame rails and more. All of these parts are the same for 2-door or 4-door. Roof and rear window are the same as Belvedere I. This is an excellent first car for someone in a Mopar family, or as a unique hipster cruiser.

"Drives out real good" as Miss Irene used to say.
