Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this documented and numbers matching 1979 Y84 Special Edition (SE) Trans Am in spectacular condition with only 71,260 original miles. The market on Special Edition Trans Ams is absolutely red hot right now and this example is one of the best available on the market today. This Trans Am features a recent professional repaint that looks absolutely stunning. Not only does this Trans Am have beautiful paint but it's also extremely solid with great lines. Everything on the Trams Am works; even the clock and the a/c. It looks great, runs awesome, and is a pleasure to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Starlight Black (19) with SE pinstripes and Gold decals over Camel Hobnail cloth (62B) interior. This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag and build sheet both pictured below. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this Trans Am really is.
This Trans Am comes with the original build sheet, which is pictured below and in excellent condition. It is compete legible and very important to have as it verifies all of the high desirable options on the car as original. Very clearly visible on the build sheet is the RPO code "Y84," which authenticates this Trans Am as a true and original Special Edition. The last six digits of the car's VIN, 100936, are also on the build sheet indicating this is the correct build sheet for this Trans Am. Please note that this Trans Am is "numbers matching." That means that the engine in the car is original and the same unit that was installed at the factory. The last six digits of the VIN, 100936, are stamped on the engine block and pictured below indicating that this is the original engine that was installed in the car brand new at the factory. The full stamping is "29N100936" and "2" indicates the Pontiac division of GM, the "9" is the model year, 1979, and the "N" is the plant where the car was produced, Norwood, OH. The paint and interior trim codes are also correct for this color combination. This Trans Am rolled off the assembly line during the first week of September in 1978 (09A). The transmission is also correct and original as well with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below. The transmission date code is also pictured below, "9M23N." The "9" is the model year, 1979. The "M" indicates the month, the "23" is the day of the month, and the "N" is the shift so the transmission was made on August 23, 1978 during the night shift.
