Description

This is a 1974 Pontiac Ventura GTO (Hatchback); I started this project when I became a Army Wounded Warrior as a means to promote a successful recovery. Like most projects, if not properly funded or lack of knowledge they will stall. This a high performance 400 block that has been bored over .30. The transmission is a brand new from TCI; TH400. The vehicle has a POSI rear end and traction bars to assist. As you can see I have been working on the vehicle since I obtained ownership; the car was bought with the current attempted paint job. I never got around to the exterior; all efforts were on the engine performance. I bought all of my parts from JEGS and I have every receipt to assure authenticity and purchase price. I have about 99% of the total car as it was released from the factory. The only missing parts are as follows heater coil and AC dashboard control unit. I must have thrown them out by accident; my plan was to not use the components in my attempt reduce engine drag. I have after market blackout headlights to replace the 6" factory glass unit. I have the shacker lid, chrome trim, door panels, front and rear bumpers in the garage. The car has been in my garage since purchase 8/2011. The car runs fast, strong and insanely wild; I start it up every 90 days. If you have questions about anything, please do not hesitate to send them to me.

Q. Where are you located?A. The vehicle is located in Fort Bragg, NC.
Q. How does the vehicle drive?A. The vehicle drives great and strong.A.2 The vehicle does heats up but does not lose any performance (HP or Torque). I am not a mechanic but was told to check the head gaskets, they maybe the gaskets of a chevy instead of a pontiac. This will indeed block the water passages that will indeed allow the engine to reach high temps. I have truly lost the desire and my patience for this build. I promise you that you will not be disappointed in the vehicle or its performance.
Q. Does the vehicle have rust on floor pans?A. I completely took the car seats and carpet out to exposed the floor pans; I completely treated the entire floor with Eastwood's rust preventive (black). The floors had surface rust which was removed by wire brush and then treated. There are no signs of rust on the bottom (external or interior); I also cover the entire floor structure (dash to rear seat) with a sound and heat dampening material.
