1971 pontiac GTO judge WT-7
Description
Very Rare 1971 GTO Judge, With Ultra rare Options and conditions. 1 of only 357 Judge hardtops produced in 71,,,,,,1 of Only 15 WT-7 Black wing and stripe cars produced. Verynicely Ordered with very rare options. Documented with Original Build sheet and PHS. Some may be familiar with this car from Hemings Muscle car Magazine, and from being discussed on forums throughout the years I have owned it. I feel there is much to be said about it, possibly to much for me since I take passing the torch very seriously. I am going to try to simplify my description the best I can and make known to a potential buyer what I think are the most important things, and I will ask that anyone who has questions as, or look at it in perso, or have someone knowledgable look at it for you. I would like to feel as comfortable selling it as you are buying it. And feel its best if I had some direct conversation with a potential buyer. I have owned the car since around 2007. It was stored away in a very preserving environment for near 30 years after being transformed into a weekend drag car. It was called the Roman Chariot, The car was not bastardized like so many where and it was evident that the owner cared for the car in that way by not chopping and cutting and drilling things all up. Aside from a crazy 70s paint job, the main alterations wher, Intake manifold, Holley Carburetor, MT valve covers, Distributor, custom wheels, headers and exhaus, hurst shifter, and things like that. There are many photos before and after and during from since I got the car, There is also much technical discussion of the car as I learned from knowledgable people on a well known Pontiac forum. Where not only did there knowledge and help serve both me and the car well, but also in some instances the cars build sheet served them as a baseline to decipher new things. The car was in Hemings Muscle machine magazine in November of 2014, where there is a good overall story of the car and its history. This car was put away back in the day with just 16800 miles showing on the odometer, It now shows aprox 19024, There is no concrete paper trail to prove the actual miles, but there is even far less that can disprove it. I say that based on the story the car has with it. Some indirect communications with people who somewhat verified the cars past. And probably the most Objective evidence being the cars condition, and how a car could survive in such amazing condition if it where not the case. Such as the Original build sheet still being in mint condition taped to the original immaculate fuel tank. Many of the original paper tags on the coil springs Etc. I have owned many, many cars and I feel completely comfortable presenting this as a actual low mile car, I would welcome close inspection and scrutiny from a knowledgable car guy to consider otherwise. Although I do understand it is lacking an indisputable paper trail. So before I un intentionally write a book. Let me try to sort the car the best I can and let any potential buyers contact me for anything more.
1971 GTO Judge WT-7 Only 357 Judges where built in 71 for various reasons. Only 15 where purchased with the WT-7 Black Stripe and wing option. The WT-7 Option can only be verified with the build sheet. The car has its Original Born with Build Sheet in perfect condition. The car also has PHS Documentation, Being presented honestly as (likely) to be actual under 20,000 miles. Born with 455 HO Ram Air motor including Round Port Heads. Born with PQ TH400 transmission. When I first got the car it was dis assembled stripped to metal and re painted in the original white using PPG product. The day 2 racing accessories where removed from the motor and the following was installed in place. Reproduction of original aluminum intake manifold with cross over, A 7041268 quadrojet carburetor restored. ( this is the non ram air version of the correct CFM single Venturi carb.) A correct GM ram air dual snorkel air cleaner. Reproduction exhaust manifolds made of Ductile steel with 2 1/2 inch exits. with a flow master full 2 1/2 inch exhaust exiting as factory through the rear valance with repo stainless tips, ( Delta 40 mufflers). The dual point Mallery dist was removed and a replacement new dist. was installed, With petronix ignition, Original radiator is still in place with tag. Under hood is all nicely detailed and runs very well. ( It does have the Infamous Pontiac rear engine seal leak when it first starts, drips a half dollar size puddle and stops when it reaches temp.) Battery has a topper to appear as original type. The front seats have been recovered with Legendary Interior. The seat belts are correct style but not original to car so dates are not correct, I am trying to point out some of these things that most wouldn't consider because someone might want to make the car perfect in the eyes of the purist. The rear seat is original as is the dash and in very good condition. When I got the car it had a black headliner and door panels installed, I redyed them to the pearl white rather than replace with after market. new carpet was installed. Rear window glass was replaced because of scratch. Trunk is detailed with matching spare wheel and Jack. Rear bumper is original with original chrome in very nice condition, has some slight whitening. The car has 5 new G-60-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires. I never had the car aligned. (Afraid to take it to anyone). The car runs and drives awesome. I drove the car into town today and had a NY Safety inspection done on it, That made the total miles driven this year 80 miles. Also I have always run Zinc additive in the oil, It now has fresh Brad Penn Race oil. This car has not gone through a nut and bolt restoration, rather it is an un bastardized survivor ( in the sense that it is a low mile original drive train car ) that has been contentiously repaired and or corrected as needed to its current condition. ((((The first photo has Bigger wheels on the back, These have been removed and replaced with the original G-60s)))). The front license plate bracket is not on the car but I do have it with the car.
So I think this covers the car in a general sense, I think I know what is important to a buyer and I want to paint an honest picture of what I am selling. But I will stop here and continue if necessary in any detail to a potential buyer. To sum it up in my view this is a very well documented, very rare example of a very rare pc of Pontiac History that was ordered with a set of options that where only available within a very short time frame. It is likely one of one. It is not yet a 100 point correct show car, but will and should easily become one. And it should be the pride of any Judge or Muscle car Collection.
The car is being sold of course as is usually the case with no guarantees other than my honest description. It is sold in as- is- where -is condition. preferred payment method is Paypal deposit within 48 hours of auction end and remainder either cash in person or bank transfer or combination of the two. Shipping cost to be arranged and paid by the buyer, I can help by driving the car to a local open area,, for shipper to meet and load car near a highway.I will encourage and welcome in person inspections, Please ask any questions or for photos, there are no mysteries surrounding this car. I am selling it because it is sitting in my garage under cover and not being used, seen, etc.The wide pontiac wheels and N.50s along with the lakewood accessories ( traction bars, and air shocks) as shown in some photos have been removed from the car and it is being sold with the original 15inch wheels in the back matching the front. I did the best I could with current photos, I can try to send any specific photos you might want. I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time while there are no bids. Thank you for surviving my add.
