1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am T-top, hatchback, V8 engine, automatic
Description
There is no rust on this car, and from what I can tell, there has never been any rust repaired either.
I am listing this car for a friend. He has not owned it for very long so the mileage may not be actual and the engine may not be original, no way to know for sure. According to the auto check report, the car should have 193,000 miles. It was recently repainted but it is not a professional job, but they did sand it down first. It was painted with a roller, which gave the paint a kind of textured look. The engine runs very nice, depress the gas pedal once to set the choke and it will start right up and idle nice, owner says that it does not burn oil, but it must leak a bit because the underside is oily on front. It's only a few drops on the ground when sitting over night. The engine has a new water pump, new headers, new muffler and tailpipes, new reman Rochester Quadrajet carb, Edelbrock intake and valve covers, just flushed the radiator, brakes were inspected and are good, all this work was done at a mechanic shop, but he did not save any of the receipts. The transmission works good and the fluid is nice bright red. The front tires are about half tread and the back about 1/4 tread left. The heater and blower fan work great, blower fan is new, it did have ac but it is not hooked up anymore and no compressor. The t-tops are in good shape and the owner states they do not leak. The drivers door hinge has a lot of wear on it, but the passenger side is pretty tight yet. Both power windows work, but the locks do not, and there is no key for the door locks. Nice Sony CD player, Hurst shifter, chrome brake and gas pedals. The seats are in rough shape and the floor carpet is a little dirty. The key latch for the hatchback door is broken but it can be opened with a screwdriver. To sum it all up the car is in good driving condition but the interior is rough. I tried to give you an honest and accurate description of the car.
There are a couple numbers on the picture of the body tag that are hard to read so I will tell you what they look like they should be. 1st line last number is 8. 2nd line first number is 6. The tag had been painted over so I lightly sanded it until the numbers showed up clearly, and in those 2 spots I sanded a little too much paint off, and that made it hard to see the number.
