Description

1964 Pontiac GTO
Real deal GTO with 4 speed
2nd owner - owned for over 3+ decades
PHS docs verified engine # and original numbers matching drivetrain. Not easy to find with a 4 speed Goat these days.
Nocturne Blue paint (done in the late 1990s (stripped/painted - no rust ever - all original panels etc)Original 389 '78X' code motor and original heads to car / M-20 wide ratio 4 spd car with console3.23 Safe-T-Track 'posi' 10 bolt rear end
Just turned over 103,800 actual/original miles; it was bought with around 80,000 miles on it and I have only put ~20,000 miles on it the past 35++ years.
The engine rebuild (.030 over) and clutch was done in the 1980s - they have perhaps 5k to 10k miles on them. Tri-power with mechanical linkage was added to this goat then, but still have the original 4bbl intake and carb with air cleaner.
New brakes and heater core (spent $2000 this past Fall). Newer BFG radial redline tires. Factory power steering, power drum brakes. I have though replaced the steering box to a quicker ratio one, but I have retained the original p/s box.

Options include: rare 1964 GTO wood wheel (added to the car - have the original black plastic steering wheel) with tilt column, factory in-dash tach, AM radio with reverb, rear defrost, and console with vacuum gauge. Padded dash. Retractable seat belts. Spinner hub caps and splitter exhaust with super turbo mufflers. Sounds great.
Beautiful rust free California car. This is a gorgeous fully documented first year GTO that I have owned since the late 1970s. It has been featured in Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine (see article). Also, it was the feature GTO for the classic car brochure shown.
Has a mile deep and original coded color nocturne blue paint that was done in the late 1990s -- and is still gorgeous. No issues. Trim is original and presents well, but was not restored. Pot metal hood scoops and taillights are xlnt condition originals.
Interior upholstery was redone around the time the paint was. However the chrome interior handles and console, dash bezel are original and show some light patina to be expected for a preserved and mostly original 53 year old car.

This car was sold in the summer of 1964 at Giberson Motors in Chico, California. Original dealer license plate frames included in sale. It has not been out of the state and has been garaged its entire life.
Full history on the car, never abused (had a GTO prior to this that I totally "enjoyed" while in the service) so this one has been babied both by me and the original female owner prior to me.
This is a very nice and super solid GTO in a great color that runs great and is a pleasure to show and drive.
Please see all pictures and ask any and all questions. I will respond to them promptly. (ps - trunk lid was not fully shut when photos were taken)

I have priced this GTO to sell as I have recently downsized and the time has finally come to pass along my great goat. Please note current NADA guide values posted to see the tremendous buy this is.
Just 2 owners its entire life.
