This 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT was completely restored in 2003, including but not limited to the engine, transmission, drivetrain, and needed interior parts. With the retention of mostly factory interior, a few Mods were necessary, like the new gauge cluster with mechanical Autolite, oil pressure, temperature, and voltage. A Grant steering wheel and custom Memphis Audio System top off a very clean interior.
The engine was removed and completely rebuilt using only the best internals from ARI Racing engines, Edelbrock, and Holley. The 2.8L was stroked to a 3.25L V-6 and the addition of a Torker II cam, lifters, and intake manifold topped with a Holley 4-Barrel carb. Starts and runs great. A brand new exhaust system was installed just last summer from the Fiero Store. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic and was completely torn down and rebuilt using only the best parts and a mild shift kit was installed.
All suspension parts were replaced with new and many Fiero Store extras were installed, including a new rack, sway bars front and back, new bushings, and even the dog bone. Nothing was left “old”. Rotors, calipers, brakes, brake lines, wheels and tires are all new too.
The paint was done in 2003 and shines nicely. I may have missed a few things, but it is the best that I can recall. It is nearly 100%. The only thing that needs attention would be the A/C system. I would upgrade to a newer system if I were going to keep the car. The car does have a sunroof and a new custom car cover. No expense was spared with this restoration. You wont find a cleaner Fiero at this price.
