BAD TO THE BONE 1970 GTO - NUMBERS MATCHING SURVIVOR
Description
The hands down one of the best 1970 GTO's for sale on the west coast. If you wanted to order this car at a restaurant you'd ask for the Hot quarter mile with a side of smokey burnout. So much fun to drive; turns heads everywhere it goes. You can't make eye contact with people at intersections or they try and talk to you about this car and how their uncle or father had one. It is an effing time machine without a flux capacitor. This car makes you feel like a better man when you drive it. It makes you feel younger than you are and it covers you in a cologne of man scent (unburned high octane fuel spitting from the carburated big block). If the noxious unfiltered fumes from the firebreathing V8 don't cause cancer; the feeling you get pulling up to a stop light in this car - cures it!!! It's the most amazing sound you've ever heard; from the low idle cam lope that makes the car sound like it's barely idling to the wide open scream of all 4 barrels on the carburetor trying their hardest to drown those 400 cubic inches in gasoline... It looks even better doing donuts in a cul-de-sac or grabbing 2nd gear around a corner and holding a tire shredding powerslide for a 100 feet. This car is no joke and is no cobbled together Tempest/clone. It's a real deal numbers matching survivor that had a frame off restoration and repaint about 5 years ago.
Only variations from bone stock are as follows:Full BMR suspension (Front upper and lower correctly re-casteredA-arms and six point rear arms) can easily be put back to stock and none of these components had any factorystamps on them. The drive and ride is very precise and predictable. It provides so much more confidence in aggressive driving situations over the stock set-up.Factory rear end gear ratio changed to 3:31 posi (now drives down the freeway at 60 MPH in 4th with engine nicely humming at 2,700 RPM's as opposed to over 3,500 with the stock 3:55 gears
