The drivetrain is all original with the exception of the starter and radiator. Some numbers are as follows :
Block stamped XD and the partial VIN stamping isin place
Transmission has the partial VIN stamped and still has the PQ tag
Rear end has GYG stamped and F93 casting
Distributor is 1112205 with a date of 2L28
Carburetor is 7043270
Heads have the 16 casting
Alternator is part # 1100925 with a date of 3E24
I didn't check #s but the exhaust manifolds look to be original.
The car drives very well. Tires, brakes, shocks and exhaust are all in great shape.
The transmission has been rebuilt recently as well as the carburetor.
The body appears to be completely rust free. The car has had one repaint sometime in the 70s and I found no rust repair of any kind. The paintstill has a very nice shine but does show some slight cracking on the front bumper and upper fender. There is one small dent in the lower tail panel and another at the bottom of the drivers fender. All sheet metal is original to the car including the correctly dated radiator support. The windshield has been replaced at some point. The weather strip is average for a car this age. The vinyl top is in exceptional condition.
The interior is all original. The seats are nice but both front seat have some splitting on the bottom inserts. The door panels and rear seat are very nice. The carpet is in great shape for the age. The dash has some slight fading on top which can easily be redyed but there are no cracks. The radio has been replaced but the dash was not cut for the aftermarket radio. The console is very nice. All gauges work properly. The steering wheel looks to be original and has some slight cracking. The originalseat belts are in place and in good shape. The trunk has no rust. The spare, jack, etc are all in place with a new trunk mat.
The AC system has been updated over the years so keep it working. The compressor has been replaced along with some of the hoses and system is complete. The AC is not cold but it looks like it would work with some freon although I can't say for sure. The EGR valve is not original to the car. Theblock off plate on the hood scoop has been removed but the framework is still in place. The entire fuel system has been gone through.
I spent some time behind the wheel and was very impressed with how well it runs and drives. There are no drivetrain noises at all and it has a lot of power. I wouldn't be afraid to drive the car any distance.
