THE FLAWS TO THIS CAR:Everyone wants to make their car out to be the best thing since slice bread.I am not selling this car as a trailer queen or some car it is not but a true survivor that is a solid solid car and can be taken to the next level and preserve it and cash in big time from a personal standpoint and a monetary standpoint if they so desire to.
The Exterior does have some old bondo in a few spots around the call out signs at the rear fenders, but I can't find it anywhere else. The body panels are all solid and as straight as they get for a 51 year old car.The chrome trim is in awesome shape and all the trim is on car except the trunk lid center piece which I have. The Tires have plenty of life left and the Rally Rims are good driver Quality.
The PAINT shows well but again, has a few flaws ie., the hood scope has some peeling and the call out sign areas have some small cracking of paint. The Paint shines pretty good and this old bad boy can be driven as it is,
The trunk has some rusty spots and it appears that a new trunk will be needed but it can be patched up.
The rear quarters are in great shape. No BONDO except near the GTO call out signs for some reason.
The rear drivers side quarter was cut out and about 6 inches up and re welded in many years ago. I guess the quarter panel had rust or cancer spot. So, the best fix was to cut out and re do the area. The repair looks awesome but the inside was never ground down to hide the weld markings. The undercarriage is in really good condition with one small area of rot/rust the size of about 4-5 inches directly under the drivers seat.
At some point in time it looks like someone towed the car and placed a strap on rear bumpers housing support and twisted it a little. Nothing major, but could be banged out in no time.
BOTH BUMPERS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION AND BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL.
The interior is really good. The dash pad has zero cracking and the dash and glove box are straight and never had any abortions done to it.However, the driver and passenger seats need to be repaired and or reupholstered but the seats are firm. The passenger seat does have a sliding feature which is rare.Drivers door needs new arm rest and window crank comes off once in a while but not stripped.
The Radio does not work.
The Wipers work.
All the Glass is in great condition no cracks
The engine compartment and inner fenders are solid. The engine is in need of a fresh coat of paint but the motor compartment shows OK.
This GTO is a keeper. But, for me, I have decided to go another route and I am planning on buying a Camaro which I just found out is going up for sale.
By no means will I let this GOAT go at a wholesale price. So, all you low ball dreamers, go somewhere else. DON'T waste my time or yours.
