Description

This is 1 of 857 455 HO 4 speed Trans Ams built in ’75. Pontiac killed the 455 for the ’75 model year but after dealers screamed for months that buyers still wanted it Pontiac decided to bring it back mid-year. It was only available with the 4 speed trans and this is the only one I have ever seen with white interior. It still has its orig #’s matching (with vin stamp on block born with engine) and still has its orig carb. The trans is the correct Borg –Warner SuperT-10 aluminum case as well. The rear end is the orig 3:23 10 bolt with posi. The car has just completed a full restoration with subframe removed and all new polyurethane suspension bushings all around, including sway bar bushings and new ball joints. The paint is PPG DDC single stage wet sanded and buffed to perfection and the factor honeycomb wheels really set it off. It has a new clutch and flywheel too. The entire AC system was gone thru, all lines and compressor replaced and upgraded with the VIR eliminator kit from COLDair in dallas. The VIR was the new for ’75 version POA valve that never worked good. The AC system is ready for charging. The white on white with blue bird and trim is striking and unique to say the least. It also has PS, PW, PDL, tilt and the ultra-rare rear seat console. The quality of restoration on this car speaks for itself.

I did not botherto pay the $45 forPHS docs as theoriginal trim tag and numbers matching L-75 WX code block are still with car. Also the 2nd digit in the vin (W) identifies the car asa Trans Am and the 5th digit (W) identifies the engine as a 455. Besides the color combo (which is on trim tag) there is not much else PHS docs will tell you on this one. That is assuming PHS is AVAILABLE on this car. They did not have a record of my '73 Formula 400 RA car.

I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. As usual winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. This car is available for inspection anytime prior to auction ending.I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. This car is sold without warranty. 20% non-refundable down pymt due 3 days after auction end. Vehicle must be picked up within 3 weeks or storage charges will apply.

On Jun-09-16 at 20:34:38 PDT, seller added the following information:

The 455 HO motor has had a full rebuild and only has approx. 3000 miles on it since. It was bored .030 with new pistons balanced and blue printed. It has roller tipped rockers and the heads are the 7K3's with larger valves and smaller combustion chambers to increase the compression. It also has a larger than stock cam but still has good vacuum for the brake booster. The intake is a Ram air III unit and has an alum flow Kooler water pump. The engine is stout and runs like a 455 should. It is no longer the anemic 200hp lamb Pontiac built but a wolf in sheeps clothing.
