1955 Pontiac Chieftain 870 Catalina
Description
I have owned this vehicle for 21 years. The vehicle is stored in a climate controlled garage. This vehicle has had a complete mechanical refurbishment. The engine was been rebuilt and blueprinted. The suspension has been rebuilt along with the brakes and treadlevac brake booster. The hood, front fenders and roof have been repainted. The car had been repainted prevoius to me purchasing it. It had been painted in lacquer. The areas mentioned were repainted in a base coat clear coat in 1996. The lacquer is starting to show its age. 2 areas are cracking, one is below the drivers exterior door handle and the other is on the right rear quarter panel. All the chrome was redone 18 years ago, the rear bumper is starting to show wear along with the eyebrows over the headlights. The original radio was refurbished and the speaker was reconed. The clock was installed but never worked, also the fuel gauge stopped working, however a new fuel gauge sending unit was installed and the wires were checked for continuity. All the other gauges work. The interior was refurbished by the previous owner. New stainless steel fuel and brake line installed.
This car gas the following options: under seat heater, turn signals (yes they were optional), back up lights, trunk and engine trouble lights, power steering, radio, rear window defroster, 6 way adjustable front seat, light hood ornament, traffic light view finder.
A am/fm radio is hidden in the glovebox
A capacitive discharge unit has installed under the hood.
This car is a nice, reliable driver
