1949 Pontiac Silver Streak, One Family Owned 84,000 mi. Car
Description
- This is a 5 day auction with no reserve, the car is looking for a good home.
Up for bid is Grandpas old Pontiac Silver Streak. The car had a frame off restoration back in the 1990's and has been in storage for the past 18 years, driven very little since the restoration was completed. The motor starts right up and idles smooth. The old car drives and the trans. shifts, the brakes stop like manual brakes. The steering is tight with no excessive play. All the gauges work, the fuel gauge does not work, there is a new sending unit that will come with the car, the sending unit is accessible without removing the tank. The car has all new glass and weather seals, new 6 volt battery. All the lights work including turn signals, the Indian head on the hood lights up., the horn works. The original owners manual is included. The seats have no real wear showing, the headliner is perfect, the bumpers were re-chromed and are near show quality. The doors close good and the windows go down and back up as designed. The undercarriage is rock solid with no rust issues. The exhaust is quiet, the radial tires have very little wear.
Remember this old car has sat for a long time, it's not a show car, or a perfect car, just a very nice and clean old Pontiac with lots of class and style. I've driven the car around the neighborhood, the speedo works accurate, the trans shifts through all the gears, the fluid is red. Remember to ask all your questions before the auction ends. I appreciate your time checking out Gramps. old car.
