Up for auction is our all original 65 Pontiac Grand Prix. This SURVIVOR was a one owner car up until 2014. Purchased new in Denver, Co. where the original owners lived their entire life’s. The car is a Colorado car through and through. With only 86,000 original miles, one owner, and all original this Pontiac has a lot to offer.
In ’65 the Pontiac Grand Prix was the Motor Trend “Car of the Year” and I can see why, this Pontiac is a pleasure to drive. The original owners were a couple who never had children and traveled the world. They were wealthy and very meticulous, this really shows in this car. If you covered up the odometer, you could pass this off as a 30,000 mile car. These people were easy on their cars and passionate about them. Ill star with the exterior; Original Cameo Ivory lacquer paint that shows little wear. There are a few stone chips on the front, but the rest is shiny and shows very well. All of the chrome and bright work is straight, pit free, and deep with shine. All of the glass is original and perfect with no cracks or scratches. This car retains all four of its T-3 headlights that all work. The hubcaps are original to the car and the tires are old radials with intricate white walls, adding some character.
The interior is better yet, 100% original. The seats are factory fresh Parchment and look fantastic. The carpet is clean and hardly worn. Door panels, headliner, kick panels, package tray are all unbelieve able nice. But the dash is the center of attention………..its covered in chrome, wood and awesome details, it is beautiful. All of the gauges look perfect and function as they should. The steering wheel is original, clear and NOT A SPLIT or CRACK. Inside the glove box, you will find the original GM Protect-O-Plate, build sheet from under the seat and original keys.
Under the hood is the original, numbers matching 389 4-bb,l dual exhaust 325 hp Pontiac Engine. Factory A/C that wants to work, but needs a shot of R-12. Power steering and power brakes. All original with no repainting. There are chalk marks, ink “ok” stamps and other factory marking telling the cars story. The undercarriage is just as nice, remember she’s a Colorado car where its dry and rust free. All four spiral shocks in place, all of the original exhaust system is in place except the mufflers. Super nice underbody with dealer installed undercoat, but light, not all gookey. The frame is solid and shows much of its original chassis black. You simply WILL NOT find a rust spot under this car.
Inside the trunk is very nice with its original mat, spare hardware and wheel.
This Pontiac runs and drives like a dream, its tight, quiet and simply a pleasure to drive. Its very reliable and comfortable. If you’re looking for a survivor you can enjoy on Sunday drives, then this is the car for you. Its impressive in every way. Its ready to get in and enjoy, this car needs nothing.
