Description

FOR SALE: 1973 Pontiac Grandville Convertible. This is a "second production" car. Made somewhere in the last week of March, 1973. This was my Dad's car, he bought it new in 1974 from Central Pontiac in Seattle. Car had 6,000 miles on it when purchased, it was a dealer demonstrator. I got the car from him in 1996. Car still has original paint, glass, interior, & drivetrain.

About the car: 60,000 miles, never wrecked, no rust at all, Porcelain Blue with white interior, new top in the late 90's, complete engine gasket re-seal in 1997, all the gaskets started leaking after I got it from sitting unused for so long. New oil pump, new lifters. I removed the original belts, hoses, tires after I got the car and replaced with new items. Engine is 455, TH-400 transmission, 2.93 open rear gears. Engine still retains all of the original equipment that it was born with. All the emission parts are still there and functional, plus I have spare emission pieces to go with the car if sold. I have 3 build sheets to the car, and I think I have the window sticker as well, not sure. I have all the 1973 service manuals, plus all the technical service bulletins that came out for the '73 model year.

Car has all options except: air conditioning, rear sway bar, posi rear end, level ride system. All options on car work as new

What I have done to car during my ownership: Installed little fog lights under front bumper to use as daytime running lights, (it's amazing how many people cannot see a 19+ foot car coming down the road). Removed points style distributor and installed 1975 model HEI distributor and had it curved to 1973 specifications. (I still have the OE points dist). Had 100a guts put into OE alternator housing. New front calipers & brake hoses. Found optional litter basket for passenger kick panel. New radiator back in the 90's. Tires are 255-70-15's riding on stock Ralley II wheels. I removed the stock "idiot light" dash cluster and installed the Ralley dash with gauges, then recently I got the vacuum gauge and put that in place of the clock. Found the space saver spare tire for the trunk. Dad had the little spare removed and dealer put a full size spare in there that took up too much room. I also made the 3 rear brake lights on each side light up instead of the usual 2 outer lights per side. The stock AM-FM radio is not the best, so I put a Kenwood CD deck under the dash. Car came with single exhaust, I installed dual exhaust back in the 90's.

Faults with the car: Drivers seat bottom has come unstitched, and the rear well liner is torn from the two rear speaker installation from years back.

We have taken many trips in this car, still gets 16+ MPG on the open road. I really hate to let this go, but I need to fund another project that I have here.

Pictures are below, price is firm, so don't try and low-ball me with ridiculous offers....if you have any questions, or need any other pictures, just ask, certain pics may be hard to take, the car is buried in the back corner of my garage and I cannot get it outside right now.

Asking price is $17,500, turn key, comes with extra parts, ready to travel anywhere at any time.

Car is in NW Washington State in the Seattle-Tacoma area

Shipping is up to the buyer, or fly out and drive it back home...I'm 30 minutes from the SeaTac Airport
