I'm the 4th owner of this amazing old Goat. It was originally a Montana car. I bought it from an Arizona guy in 2001 when I lived and worked in New Mexico. In 2003 when I left NM the car stayed behind, stored in an enclosed garage and watched-over by a mechanic buddy for 13 years. Before I left I had a crate motor and transmission built for it too: a stroked-out Pontiac 400 dyne'd at 499 HP, 562 pound-feet of torque. I had it partially installed but never got it finished. Years later I'd run out of money, gave up on the crate and had the original Pontiac 400 reinstalled before having the car shipped to me in south Alabama. After our warm reunion I had to have the car's timing chain eccentric replaced to get that original 400 motor running well again. And for a few years after that it stayed at home with me, carported in Alabama. I got it tuned-up and drove it awhile. I bought new tires for it, then had the old springs, shocks and bushings replaced and drove it for awhile longer. We recently moved to New Hampshire. Up here it's sitting in climate-controlled storage. During the GTO's few years in Alabama it ran nicely. It turned a lot of heads then and it still does now. It's a lovely sight to see, about as pretty as can be for a 50-year-old unrestored relic from a bygone era. I hate to part with it, but I've got other things to do. The original 8-track tape deck still sits on the tranny hump. It looks cool and it worked for years, but now it doesn't. I have some other things included with the car: a brand-new BeCool radiator with a custom Vintage-Air cooling system, power-window actuators and switches, a fiberglass rear-spoiler with mounts. None of these things were ever used; all are still boxed and ready to travel with the car. This '69 GTO and all its accessories are just itching for a lovely day and a breezy cruise along a smooth, sunny, winding road.
The specially ordered 400 crate motor, transmission, carburetor and pristine aluminum headers will sell in a separate listing.
