Description

PHS docs. Body off restored real 242 GTO. Professionally done body and paint. Factory a/c car in original colors. YS block. TH400 auto trans. 3.23 rear gear ratio. Believed to be correct original drivetrain. Nicely restored Correct California carburetor #7040564. Fuel lines are new. Alternator is 1100834. Power steering and power brakes.
Built in California (Z) and delivered to Frizzell Pontiac in Houston. Car wears the correct colors with the rear wing and hood tach added. Remote mirror works as it should. Air conditioning system has some components removed like we all commonly see. Has a modern radio with no speakers.
Has the original poly front bumper. Many hours spent on the front bumper to repair small cracks and prevent new ones. It was coated with Bedliner and block sanded down flat. The SEM rep suggested this and it has made the bumper more rigid and durable. Even so, it has a small paint crack that happened before I even got it back from the shop.
Car was gutted during restoration. Floor corners were repaired and new headliner installed. New seat upholstery and carpet. Base of windshield had new metal welded in. It has a New windshield. New rear bumper.
New hood tach painted to match. Lights up bright and has to be he coolest thing Pontiac ever did. Distributor is a stock HEI.
Brake system is new or rebuilt front and back.
Frame was blasted from the engine back and covered with POR15. Body mounts were repaired and new bushings installed. Transmission cable was replaced.
Lots of new parts as happens when doing a body off. Fenders are new by AMD and were reworked by the shop to improve the fit.
Everything described above was just done by a busy muscle car restoration shop.
I have owned the car since 2010. I purchased it from a mom (and dad) with growing children that found they didn’t have time for the car. They owned it for many years.
Engine looks fresh and correct. Open the hood with pride.
Car runs fantastic. Transmission shifts perfectly. Great car in great color combo. Act quick before I change my mind.
