Moon out of Fort Worth Texas at the Bill McDavid Pontiac Dealership in Fort Worth, TX on May 22, 1978. The car comes with her original Texas title showing the initial lien date of 5-22-1978, title date of 6-26-1978 and the lien release signed off in 1981. The Original Dealers name (Bill McDavid) on the title matches the dealerships name decal on the back of the car and on the Original Window Sticker and dealer receiving report from the manufacturer. This car is not only a desirable 1978 Trans AM, but a rare Y88 Gold Special Edition with the better Pontiac 400 V8 and a 4-Speed Manual Transmission. A few of the desirable options ordered by James include Air Conditioning, AM FM 8-Track Tape, Power Windows and Power Locks. The Power Windows go up and down as they should. The Radio all works perfectly. AC shows to work but does slowly leaks freon. This car has never been smoked in; so the cigarette lighter works perfectly and has never been used. The last time this car was driven and registered was in 2003 as you can see on the original Texas Registration sticker on the windshield. We did a complete fluids check and a tune-up; we flushed the fuel system and replaced the fuel tank (no build sheet on top of tank), we also replaced the brake lines, installed a new brake master, installed new parking brakes cables and rebuilt the Carburator, we also changed out belts and hoses and flushed the cooling system and even re-cored and re-installed the original radiator. She now fires right up and drives great. The clutch works excellent and goes through all the gears as she should, the motor is strong and the tires will brakes loose easily and is fun to drive and enjoy as is. We found no rust issues; even in the typical areas...the trunk floor is solid and even under the rear bumper is solid (see pics). This is an original paint and original interior car. When we got the car we did cleaned the interior but did not remove the carpet, we also left the rear seats alone and door panels alone. We did find pieces of a build sheet under the driver seat that we put in the center console, but any other build sheet in the car should still be in the car. We were told that the car drove great up to the point of parking it we wanted to get her road worthy again but keep her original. We left the original muffler system on; maybe replace that but unless you want to do a perfect restoration, she is an amazing original. The only negative history on the car was a dent on the passenger front fender were the owner decided to work himself vs have it replaced. Call Ron at 682-333-7433 with any questions.
