Description

1940 Pontiac - Custom Coupe

Don't take too much time reading this ad because this beautiful 1940 PontiacCustom won't be up for sale for long! You have just stumbled upon one of the top Pontiacs in the US and anyone who lays eyes on the car in person will just have to have it. It is just as much a work of art as it is a one of a kind piece of engineering. The car was built with an eye for detail. The all original classic was originally bought for this project with a low amount of miles on the engine so even prior to being completely redone the car was nice. It then underwent a complete restoration where not a single bolt was left unturned. Since completion the car has never seen rain or weather other than nice sunny days.

The exterior of the car has a look that is just as much tough hot rod as it is classy street rod. The body is incredibly straight and being coated in a nice solid gloss two-tone Milk Shake and Light Orange paint that has no problem making heads turn. Many say it reminds them of the Dream Sicle ice cream bar. Walk around the car to see the level of detail we are referring too. All of the glass windows are in good condition and have a light smoked finish for a great look. The car has an AWESOME stance and rides smoothly down the road. Tucking up under the fenders are brightly finished 18" MODA Custom wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 245/40 ZR18 front and Falken GR3 FR451 255/45 ZR18 rear radial tires. The car also has a hidden license plate which only comes down when the engine is running.

The car is custom fitted with a Chevy 350 hp engine with TPI fuel injection and the C4 Corvette polished front suspension. Think about it, the drive train of a highly sought after sports car...in your classic 40. HOW COOL IS THAT? Not only does the motor perform extremely well, it has a custom look. The billet valve covers look perfect in place and various other components appoint the engine compartment well. The firewall is incredibly clean being smoothed out and only topped with the minimum requirements like the A/C hoses. Behind the smooth running engine is a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission which is mated to a Camaro 10-Bolt rear end positrac system that is fitted with 3.70:1 gears. In addition to the fully updated drive train the car is fitted with Pro shocks with coil over shocks in front and a Griffin radiator, power disc front brakes and a power rack and pinion steering system. This makes driving the car extremely nice and comfortable.

Inside you will see it was just as well done as the rest. The 1990 Cadillac STS front and rear power seats are reupholstered in very high quality. The individual front seats are very comfortable and are fitted with seat belts. The dash of the car has a very clean look and is all custom as well. It is painted to match the exterior creating a very cool effect. Dolphin gauges are in place and an AM/FM/CD player is mounted perfectly. A Vintage AC/Heat system was added to the car and utilizes vents that look like they were originally built into the dash in 1940. Matching the leather color is a custom wrapped LeCarra Custom steering wheel that sits on top of the tilt telescoping steering column. The interior is extremely luxurious and easily puts other custom interior work to shame.

The car is truly a quality build from front to rear. It comes withpictures of the build totaling over $60k. It needs nothing but to be driven, enjoyed, and of course...shown off! The car is shown regularly and is always a Class First Place winner as well as Best in Show Custom.
